My brother is 12 and just like other people of his age he can’t use a computer properly because he is only familiar with mobile devices and dumbed-down computers\n
\n
I recently dual-booted Fedora KDE and Windows 10 on his laptop. Showed him Discovery and told him, “This is the app store. Everything you’ll ever need is here, and if you can’t find something just tell me and I’ll add it there”. I also set up bottles telling him “Your non-steam games are here”. He installed Steam and other apps himself\n
\n
I guess he is a better Linux user than Linus Sebastian since he installed Steam without breaking his OS…\n
\n
The tech support questions and stuff like “Can you install this for me?” or “Is this a virus?” dropped to zero. He only asks me things like “What was the name of PowerPoint for Linux” once in a while\n
\n
After a week I have hardly ever seen my brother use Windows. He says Fedora is “like iOS” and he absolutely loved it\n

I use Arch and he keeps telling me “Why are you doing that nerdy terminal stuff just use Fedora”. He also keeps explaining to me why Fedora better than my “nerd OS”

When I started using Lemmy I joined Lemmy.world and downloaded several Lemmy apps, to find one I liked. After a short while, the apps seemingly became incompatible with Lemmy.world and refuse to display the communities I’d joined, or show any content on the main page of the app if I selected Subscribed rather than Local or All. I also couldn’t see posts I knew to be there in some communities. Due to these issues I tried Lemmy.ml and fortunately it doesn’t suffer from these problems when using the apps. What’s going on? Thanks. I am trying to get a feel of what I should do. For example, if my instance loses its data (due to a hack, sale, vulnerability, etc.), I am pretty sure all the information is lost (including my IP addresses). Hi!\n
\n
I have bought a Geberit shower toilet/bidet with a motion sensor but it’s aimed at the front while the toilet is installed sideways. So I’ve opened the thing up and I can take out the motion sensor, but the cable it’s connected to is too short to do anything with. So I’m looking to buy/make an extension cable, but I have no idea on how to find it. So I took pics of the connector and I’m hoping you can help me find the type of connector (and if someone has a buy link: even better!). Thanks!\n

Hi!\n
Thanks!\n
\n
edit: [www.jst.com/products/…/vr-connector/](https://www.jst.com/products/insulation-displacement-connectors-wire-to-board-type/vr-connector/) this looks like the socket, but the pitch seems wrong?

Hello comrades! I figured I might have a bit more scientific responses here than Reddit, or maybe the same. So, for the longest damn time, I was really into adaptogenic teas, it gave me a bit of a buzz but in a good way. More focused I should say. I also have autism, and I tried a cordyceps tea and I didn’t feel as autistic when drinking the tea if that makes sense? I’m pretty dumb when it comes to scientific things, like the brain and stuff, so please help me understand. If I try adaptogenic teas again, will it take away more of my autism, as the adaptogenic rewire your brain? Also, I’m confused on the whole neurprotective thing. Does neuroprotective mean it’ll protect my autistic brain? Or what exactly does that mean?\n
\n
P.S. I’m NOT trying to get rid of my autism AT ALL. I know it’s in your genes/dna, but then how do adaptogens work?\n
\n
Bonus question: How long do adaptogenic teas stay in your system, and do your nerve pathways go back to normal when you stop taking adaptogens?
