But if I order something online from, say, Best Buy and pick it up in store, how is that tracked? Does it count as a sale for the store, even though I didn’t actually buy it there? If not, do companies use a separate metric (ie this store doesn’t get as many sales, but people still come in to pick up stuff, so we’ll keep it open)?"

Hi,\n
\n
I recently bought a few pre-made amplifier modules for an 8-channel amplifier project (for a sound installation).\n
\n
The amp is based on the TDA7294 chip and is rated 85W nominal. Now I’m looking for a power supply, but I’m a bit lost (this isn’t really my strongest field, to put it mildly).\n
\n
Do I just need to add up the output power, 8*85W = 680W, or could I get away with using something smaller, like a 300W or 300VA?\n
\n
Also, the seller said that you need to use CV power supplies, CC won’t work and kill the circuit. Does that mean a switching supply can’t be used?\n
\n
It looks like the module has a rectifier and smoothing caps integrated, so I could potentially just use a transformer, right?\n

I’m not sure where to discuss this so I’m posting here since this is the hub of FOSS advocates.\n
\n
I had a really interesting conversation with a friend about the Bandcamp situation and as we were discussing it occured to me that something like PeerTube but for music doesn’t really exist. Which doesn’t make sense in my mind as it’s so much less cost to host and so useful. Half of Youtube’s audience mainly goes there for music.\n
\n
So, I don’t know, does it make sense for anyone else to work on something Fediverse-based (Activity Pub) that is aimed at music creators?\n
\n
I would even go as far as allow the creators to host ads on their page so as to attract as many of them as possible. Controversial but we have to take one step at a time to change mindsets. Right now, the situation is that you have to put up with massive advertising or go the FOSS way and depend on donations.\n
\n
What do you guys think?

I don’t post particularly controversial stuff, but I am an active commenter and I’ve noticed that mods will just wipe my comments or those of others on a whim. I think this is a huge issue and one of the biggest downsides about switching from reddit. I very rarely had comments removed on reddit and when I did I received a notice at least. This seemingly secretive wipe of comments sometimes a full day later feels very oppressive. Anyway, I know they show up in the mod log, but that’s certainly not a place I want to scour on a regular basis. Is there any easy way to setup a monitor to at least alert me if one of my posts or comments are removed? I think mods should be required to contact users and provide an explanation - right now its way too much power for mods to be curating content so heavily."

> \n
> - !piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com,\n
> - !steamdeckpirates@lemmy.dbzer0.com,\n
> - !piracy@lemmy.ml, and their local counterparts as follow up actions.\n
> \n
> In our [removal announcement](https://lemmy.world/post/3234363), we stated that we will continue to look into this more in detail, and re-allow these communities if and when we deem it safe. It was a solid concern at the time, because we were already receiving takedown requests as well as constant attacks, and didn’t want to put our volunteer team at risk. We had zero measures in place, and the tools we had were insufficient to deal with anything at scale.\n
> \n
> Well, after back and forth with some very cool people, and starting to have proper measures as well as tooling to protect ourselves, we decided it’s time to welcome these communities back again. Long live the IT nerds!\n
> \n
> We know it’s been a rough ride with everything, and we’d like to thank every one of you who were understanding of us, and stayed with us all the way. Please know that as users, you are what makes this platform what it is, and damned we be if we ever forget it.\n

I want to change te battery setup in the camper van a bit.\n

Currently there is a single battery which is charged by either solar, engine or 230v. Then a transformer to 230v to power the outlets.\n

The idea is to add an extra battery. A lot of people are saying that it isn’t a good idea to put those batteries in series or parallel if the batteries are not exactly he same. Now our idea is to switch between the two batteries with the help of some relais and an Arduino or something. So then + of both batteries would be connected to a relay and after the relay we can connect them together. Is this a good/safe way of doing that? Or will we be running into issues that I’m not seeing.\n

Thanks in advance!

I want to change te battery setup in the camper van a bit.\n

Currently there is a single battery which is charged by either solar, engine or 230v. Then a transformer to 230v to power the outlets.\n

I had them in a pan at a low simmer to meld the flavors. The problem was the steam coming off was potent as hell. It filled the house when everyone was arriving and coughing from the hot sauce in the air, me included. We had to open all the windows, dig out the fans to get it out of the house, freezing everyone in the process."

> I F30 don’t have the best relationship with my husband’s mom. Since day one she tried to make remarks and compare me to her ??. She then tried to get on my good side and started overly praising everything I do and sometimes even copying me like that one time when she LITERALLY dyed her hair purple just like mine and when everyone pointed out how ridiculous she looked, she actually blamed me and accused me of trying to make a joke out of her.\n
> \n
> So, Anyways! My husband and I took 2 weeks off work to go visit some places out of the country - tourism in other words. Thing is I was the one who saved up for and arranged for the trip (my husband was responsible for booking the tickets). My husband’s mom wanted to come along and threw temper tantrums when I said no. She called, texted, sent people to talk to me into letting her come, even threatened to call the police and make some complaint up to get us to stay if she can’t come. My husband said we should just take her but I told him he was wrong to tell her about the trip in the first place. He gave me an ultimatum. said he wouldn’t go if she can’t come and I told him I’d gladly call his bluff which made him take his words back and say “FINE! I will tell her to stop it because we won’t take her”.\n
> \n
> Things got quieter, suspiciously quieter. the day of the trip came and we got to the airport at 2pm. My husband was walking ahead of me and was looking left and right like he was looking for someone. I asked him but he didn’t respond. He lead me to the waiting area and first thing I saw was his mom standing there with her luggage . I froze in my spot, I felt a cold wave washing over me and I was fuming inside. She and my husband were hugging that’s when I quietly turned around and started walking towards the exit. My husband followed me while shouting at me to stop. he tried to stop me but I told him off the harshest way possible. He tried to say I was overreacting and that his mom was there “anyway” and I should let it go and not mess the trip up for us. I told him he and his mom could still go and that I was going home.\n
> \n
> I went home and sobbed into my dog’s fur for several minutes. turned out he booked her a ticket without me knowing. an hour later he came home yelling and raging about how pathetic and spiteful I was to walk out and go home and ruin the trip last minute. I told him he caused this to happen. he said that I was being so hard on his mom it’s ridiculous. I refused to fight any more but he kept on berating me then called my family to tell them that the trip was cancelled and that it was because of me. My family said that I shouldn’t have ruined it for myself and should’ve sucked it up and done my best to enjoy.\n

Going Low contact has never even been an option. Like he has to see her or call her everyday.\n

In that moment and seeing how he was still not even anywhere near understanding what he has done just… made things perfectly clear to me. I just had pictured years and years of my life being lived like that and I was like no…I can’t do it, Can’t take anymore of it especially when he keeps focusing on being right every time. His mom can do no wrong. I’m always the aggressive, crazy, jealous, pathetic, overreactor.\n

It’s become clear now that we keep going in circles with no end in reach and I’m just so exhausted and overwhelmed. I am not the original poster. Original post by u/RoadIsland123 in r/AmItheAsshole.\n

> \n
> Did I really overreact?\n

> Hello!.\n
> \n
> I don’t know where to begin…it’s been an absolute nightmare recently. And I feel like I was losing my sanity.\n
> \n
> So for more details about my situation. I have to admit that my husband’s mom favors him over all his siblings. this affected his relationship with them and me as well. He’s never seen an issue with how differently his mom treats him, it bothered me and made me feel uncomfortable. The whole dynamic made me feel uncomfortable. Going Low contact has never even been an option. Like he has to see her or call her everyday.\n
> \n
> Most of his siblings don’t talk to him and I 100% believe it’s because of his mom’s favoritism like I said. He does bare some blame for not seeing how wrong this is till this day.\n
> \n
> In many instances I found myself making excuses for his behavior. Even in my post. I did it spontaneously and I don’t know why. But I guess it’s because of how much I love him and because I really really wanted to be able to work things this type of things out without letting them affect our marriage.\n
> \n
> Regarding what happened with the trip, He tried to have a talk with me and most of what he said came from place of blame, Blame towards me. I just couldn’t continue with this argument. I told him I needed space and that I would be going to stay with my sister for a while. He didn’t take it well, he literally got up from the couch and opened the door telling me to go right then.
> \n
> All these people’s opinions, advice and concerns were like a spark…like the wake up call I really needed. Though I wish that it didn’t get this far but what’s done is done.\n
> \n
> Right now I’m staying with my sister (I brought my dog with me as well) He sent me his last message telling I’m the one choosing to end what we had together but I believe it’s the other way around, especially with how he keeps making his mom the victim in this situation. It’s become clear now that we keep going in circles with no end in reach and I’m just so exhausted and overwhelmed. I’m not mad at him and don’t expect him to change but… at least I’m given options to decide what’s best for me and my future even if it’s separation and divorce.\n
> \n
> A big thank you to those who reached out with resources that I feel very very lucky to have come across. Just wanted to give you an update since many of you asked for it.\n
