Im very sorry for the german output (if anyone knows how to change only the terminal language to english, I would appreciate if they could tell me how to). It essentially says this:\n
\n
```\n
\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> [...]\n
If anyone has suggestions for fixing this promblem, I would appreciate it very much if they could share their thoughts.
I installed Debain 12 about a month ago, and kept having difficulties with the package manager. It seems to lack any sort of sources in its default configuration, so that I had to manually add some which I saw online to the sources file. By default, the sources file only refered to some cd-rom thing, even though I installed the OS with a usb stick. Currently I am trying to install blender with apt, but as many times before, apt finds the program, but not the dependencies. The output I get from `sudo apt install blender` is this:\n
But if I order something online from, say, Best Buy and pick it up in store, how is that tracked? Does it count as a sale for the store, even though I didn’t actually buy it there? If not, do companies use a separate metric (ie this store doesn’t get as many sales, but people still come in to pick up stuff, so we’ll keep it open)?"
I just finished watching ‘Bodies’ and we have to agree on one thing:\n
\n
Timecrimes is the only proper time travel movie ever made.\n
\n
Spoilers below…\n
\n
Every other movie either tries to take time travel seriously (Primer, Minority report, Travelers) and fails by creating paradoxes or takes it lightly (Back to the future, Hot tub time machine, Groundhog day) and is not a real SciFi movie. Timecrimes is the only perfect loop and hence the only movie that avoid paradoxes. And what a loop at that. The reveal is just perfectly timed giving away each detail step by step. You basically figure it out together with the protagonist and watch him change his decisions as he realizes what’s going on. The loop is the entire point of the movie and that’s the only proper way to do it.\n
\n
Bodies was close but of course they had to add a happy ending there and break the loop in the last episode which was pretty weak.\n
\n
Timecrimes forever.\n
\n
That’s all I had to say. Thank you.
Before anything else, I would like to say that I admit `systemd` has brought great change to GNU/Linux. `sysvinit` wasn’t the best, and custom scripts for every distro is a pain I’d rather not have.\n
\n
With that said, [Poettering now works for Microsoft](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lennart_Poettering), `systemd` has basically taken over all of the common/popular distributions (if this is about the argument of “`systemd` making it easier for developers”, disclaimer: I don’t know. I’m not a developer), and this has led to a rampant monopolisation of the init system.\n
\n
Memes aside, this has very real consequences. If you don’t want another CentOS-style “oof, sorry, off to testing” debacle happening with your init system, might want to look at the more “advanced” distributions that let you choose the init system.\n
\n
I am well aware that systemd works well for the most part, and that gamers and most other people likely don’t care - which is fine, at least for now. I do expect to see a massive turnover in sentiment if something ever happens to `systemd` (not that I’d like for that to happen, but no trusting RedHat anymore), but I suppose we’ll get to it when we do.\n
\n
My sentiments are well enunciated in this recent post on the Devuan forum: [dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?id=5826](https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?id=5826)\n
\n
Cheers!
Before anything else, I would like to say that I admit `systemd` has brought great change to GNU/Linux. `sysvinit` wasn’t the best, and custom scripts for every distro is a pain I’d rather not have.\n
\n
With that said, [Poettering now works for Microsoft](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lennart_Poettering), `systemd` has basically taken over all of the common/popular distributions (if this is about the argument of “`systemd` making it easier for developers”, disclaimer: I don’t know. I’m not a developer), and this has led to a rampant monopolisation of the init system.\n
\n
Memes aside, this has very real consequences. If you don’t want another CentOS-style “oof, sorry, off to testing” debacle happening with your init system, might want to look at the more “advanced” distributions that let you choose the init system.\n
\n
I am well aware that systemd works well for the most part, and that gamers and most other people likely don’t care - which is fine, at least for now. I do expect to see a massive turnover in sentiment if something ever happens to `systemd` (not that I’d like for that to happen, but no trusting RedHat anymore), but I suppose we’ll get to it when we do.\n
\n
My sentiments are well enunciated in this recent post on the Devuan forum: [dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?id=5826](https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?id=5826)\n
\n
Cheers!
