Just wanted to show my love for potatoes. They have such a wide range of possible flavours, they make me actually full, they can be healthy or unhealthy, they’re so great. Mashed potatoes are super easy to make and taste amazing, potato soup literally one of my top 3, sliced potatoes in a pan with some oil and stuff super great. So many options to prepare this devine food. Such a basic flavour, yet able to expand to such delicacies! In my eyes, it’s the water of food (in that water is cheap, tasty and health and my favourite drink). We need more potato appreciators, cause it’s just so good. Such a genuine good food, liked by almost everyone in one way or another, so versatile yet basic, so thick and filling but also lightly palettable. And if you’re lucky, you can even grow them in your backyard! Literally amazing, growing potatoes yourself!? Insane! (Live in Germany, the climate here makes it easily possible. My grandma does it and they taste great)\n

Thank you, potatoes of the world, for existing. Thank you for filling our stomaches with something lovable, tasty and nutritious. Thank you for bringing us together to celebrate the potato, in all it’s glorious forms.

\n
Thank you, potatoes of the world, for existing. Thank you for filling our stomaches with something lovable, tasty and nutritious. Thank you for bringing us together to celebrate the potato, in all it’s glorious forms.

🚀 **Privacy DNS Chooser Script v1.0 "Snow Breeze" Release!**\n
\n
Project source code : <https://github.com/rollsicecream/privacy-dns-chooser>\n
\n
Dear Community,\n
\n
I'm thrilled to announce the official release of the Privacy DNS Chooser Script v1.0, code-named "Snow Breeze"! This marks a significant milestone in my journey to simplify the process of enabling DNS-over-TLS with privacy-focused DNS providers on Linux systems using systemd-resolved.\n
\n
### Key Highlights:\n
\n
- **User-Friendly Setup:** Easily configure DNS-over-TLS with a seamless and intuitive CLI Interface\n
- **Privacy-Focused Providers:** Choose from trusted DNS providers like Quad9, Mullvad DNS, and NextDNS (more coming soon!)\n
- **Enhanced Security:** DNS-over-TLS is enabled by default for a more secure online experience.\n
\n
### How to Get Started:\n
\n
1. Ensure you have systemd-resolved installed on your Linux system.\n
2. Download the script from [GitHub](https://github.com/rollsicecream/privacy-dns-chooser).\n
3. Run the script with sudo to set up your preferred DNS provider.\n
\n
### Your Feedback Matters:\n
\n
We value your feedback! Share your experience, report issues, or suggest improvements on [GitHub Issues](https://github.com/rollsicecream/privacy-dns-chooser/issues). Your insights help us refine and enhance the Privacy DNS Chooser Script.\n
\n
### Spread the Word:\n
\n
Help us reach more users by sharing the news! Talk about it, share on your favorite forums, and let your community know about the release.\n
\n
### Thank you!

I’m kinda new to linux, however I seem to remember running a headless ububtu server years back. Also remember it took a long time to setup being my first headless server.\n
\n
So, to my current issues. I just installed mint on an old pc and just want to use it to run my security cams, store the files, and host my nas. Took me over 6 hours to get the raid setup properly, so much differing information on ‘how to’ for noobs like myself, but managed to get it working and moving files over to raid file now.\n
\n
Coming from mostly windows crap most of my life, its confusing where and how the raid is setup, and honestly I’m still not convinced I did it right, but everything I check says it is, and I’m sure it knows better than I do.\n
\n
Ok, now the issue, how in the ever lovin shit can I just share that stupid folder/disk to my network. 90% of the options are greyed out while looking at the properties tab, and need sudo access to change it, so whats the point in having the gui? Am I just dumb and smoked way too many doobies? Got samba installed, but not configured yet, only cause I ran across much more conflicting info, some said in mint its easy like windows…right click and share that shit, easy right? Even I didn’t think so, and I’m ok with that, I’m really sick of windows and want to convert all the pc’s but damn…stiff learning curve.\n
\n
Don’t get me wrong, I ran DOS back in the day, and I was not bad at it, better than your normal user at the time but by no means a power user. So I should be able to grab the concept quickly, but I am failing. Total of 12 hrs on this now and considering just putting win7 back on this pig and giving up.\n
\n
I know no one can give me direct answers, and not looking for tech support, but looking for advice so im not wanting to ‘hulk smash’ this thing

I have been using PopOS for a while now (came installed with my S76 Lemp10), but now looking for a new distro (I want to try Linux Mint). I am looking for the easiest way to set up the new distro with most of my current applications installed.\n
\n
My current plan on how to move my applications and settings:\n
\n
- Get dotfiles to external repo (I am using stow)\n
- Use ansible-playbook to set up installation of all the apps I need\n
- Try the ansible setup on a docker container to ensure it works\n
- Then try the ansible setup on a PopOS VM to ensure things work\n
- Modify the ansible setup to use Linux Mint package manager (synaptic I believe)\n
- Then try the ansible setup on a Linux Mint VM\n
- Once everything works, copy the data, install new distro and run ansible script on the new OS\n
\n
Is above the correct way to go about this, or is there anything better or easier available?\n
\n
Edit: Thanks everyone for responses. The general consensus seems to be that that above is overkill (although doable and works) and copying home folder & dotfiles and trying out the distro fresh is easier, and install software as needed. Or, try NixOS :)

My party:#### Smiter: Paladin 5 / Warlock 7 \n
Progression: P2 -> W5 -> P5 -> W7 \n
Starting stats: 16, 10, 14, 8, 10, 16 \n
Feats: PAM/GWM/Cha+2, Cha+2 \n
Equipment: 2H weapon, best heavy armor, anything that grants advantage \n
Notes: *Smite with warlock slots. Subclasses don’t matter much, but choose Pact of the Blade (extra attack stacks with Paladin’s).* \n

For my first run, I focused largely on engaging the roleplay elements and didn’t worry too much about optimization.\n
\n
For my tactician run, I’m attempting to utilize about as much OP shenanigans in my party as possible, and I’m having a great time with it so far. What are your favorite OP builds to actually play?\n
\n
Bonus points if they’re viable all the way through the game without respec-ing.\n
\n
My party:#### Smiter: Paladin 5 / Warlock 7 \n
Progression: P2 -> W5 -> P5 -> W7 \n
Starting stats: 16, 10, 14, 8, 10, 16 \n
Feats: PAM/GWM/Cha+2, Cha+2 \n
Equipment: 2H weapon, best heavy armor, anything that grants advantage \n
Notes: *Smite with warlock slots. Subclasses don’t matter much, but choose Pact of the Blade (extra attack stacks with Paladin’s).* \n
Alternates: P5/W5/F2 for action surge. #### Thrower: Berserker 6 / Thief 3 / Champion 3 \n
Progression: B5 -> Ro3 -> F3 -> B6 \n
Starting stats: 17, 14, 16, 8, 10, 8 \n
Feats: Tavern Brawler (Str+1) \n
Equipment: Sword-and-board, best medium armor, throwing bonuses \n
Notes: *Throw everything and everyone. Keep a few nice magic 2H weapons for bonus throws.* \n
Alternates: B6/R4/F2 or B8/R4 for additional feats. #### Sniper: Assassin 3 / Gloomstalker 5 / Champion 4 \n
Progression: Ro3 -> Ra5 -> F4 \n
Starting stats: 14, 16, 16, 8, 12, 8 \n
Feats: Sharpshooter, Dex+2 \n
Equipment: Dual hand crossbows, best light armor (until later…), anything sneak- or surprise-related Notes: *If surprising a group, drink a haste potion and end the encounter solo.* \n
Alternates: Any combination of A3/G5/F2 or A3/G3/F5 seems viable. #### Bear: Moon Druid 12 \n
Starting stats: 14, 10, 17, 8, 16, 8 \n
Feats: Tavern Brawler (Con+1), Warcaster, Wis+2/Resilient (Con+1) \n
Notes: *Be a bear. Enough said.* \n
Alternates: D7/C5–cast Spirit Guardians before assuming bear form.

I have a Prometheus builtin one in my Thinkpad and even though the mainboard firmware sucks, the sensor has libfprint support.\n

But I dont want to type my password that often and I use Fingerprint everywhere.\n

Plasma 6 is said to have Webauthn / Fido2 keys support, which could be a solution, but apart from that, I would like a USB fingerprint reader.\n

[These Benns ones](https://www.benss-tech.com/index.php/product-c11.html) where reported to work years ago, but they are not available anywhere anymore.\n
\n
I already tried one from ARCANITE (through Amazon) and it didnt work.\n
\n
I think some are not actually sensors but security keys with password storage and fingerprint unlock?\n
\n
Does anyone know USB fingerprint sensors that work and are available? I would also be interested if these are actually secure or some cheap stuff that is very insecure.\n
\n
Out of curiosity, do Android phone sensors work? I had an IR one on mx Pixel 7pro that I swapped from a broken display to a good one, and that could totally be done on a laptop (if you get the flat cable…)
