Can commodity products detect which pixel you’re looking at on a screen?\n

For a number of years, I’ve wanted a system that eliminates mouse pointer devices. In my imaginary system, there are hotkeys bound to left & right mouse clicks, and what gets clicked is whatever you’re looking at.\n

When I’ve looked at this before, the tech field tends to suffer in granularity and/or physical limitations, like needing to limit gross head movements. Most products talk about what they *can* do, but avoid talking about their limitations. It can be hard to find out what devices are capable of - accuracy, working with corrective eyewear, speed, head movement, software (OS) support, etc. Many products are geared at research, leading me to believe the tech isn’t there yet.\n

I first started playing Violet a month and a half ago. A couple weeks into playing my wife expressed interest in playing too. So I got a copy of Scarlet for her. Since I was so far ahead of her (both in the actual game and knowledge of the games, I have been playing since LG/FR, while she has only played GO) I decided to take a break from Violet to finally play Shield. I purchased it when it came out but never left the starting town.\n
\n
I have now beaten Shield and use the raids there to level my Pokémon in Violet. In Violet I have beaten all of the gyms, all of the Titans, and just have 1 more Star Base. When trying to join a Tera raid I can only join random ones, the ones on be board always say I failed to join. But doing the random raids I end up with so many 1*-3*s. When I am looking for raids I am having the same issue, they are all lower.\n
\n
Even before I became the champion in Shield it was faster to level by transferring my Pokémon.

I am trying to get Outer Wilds running on my Debian machine, and the “running” itself was a breeze. It runs perfectly on Lutris. But somehow my controller doesn’t communicate with the game. Same applies to steam, Even in Big Picture mode nothing happens on screen when tapping all the buttons or moving some joystick.\n

Does someone know how I could go about fixing this issue? At first I thought that this would be a wine thing, but steam is native, and even it doesn’t recognize the controller…

Maybe the wrong place to ask, so sorry to the mods if thats the case.\n
\n
I’ve a load of movies on DVD and wonder if its worth converting to mp4 and building a personal media centre to save loading each and every disc. I’ve tried to convert a movie I like to mp4 today using VLC but that crashes. I then downloaded winxdvd ripper - that worked better but cut the movie off after 10 minutes (I fail to see why I should have to pay 40 quid to get more than 10 mins of video).\n
\n
I also tried an old Ubuntu install on another laptop and Handbrake and VLC there but got no video at all.\n
\n
Is there any app/program that is open source/actually free where I can just drop in my DVD and create an easy mp4 file to be viewed via my media player/TV?\n
\n
Thanks in advance

+body: "Hey guys, I’ve been running Mint on my home computer for a little while now and I’m having a great time, however there’s one behaviour from Windows I’m missing. When you hit win + arrows to snap the currently focussed window to the left or right half of the screen, windows will present a dialogue to select a companion window for the other half of the screen from your other floating windows. Does anyone know how best to implement something like this? I tried a tiling WM like i3, but that’s a bit more… involved than what I’m looking for. Thanks!"

Thanks!"
