In some posts, I see some comments are highlighted in yellow for no obvious reason that I can figure out. [Example post here](https://lemmy.ml/post/8825552)\n
\n
It’s not just the OP’s comments, it’s not just all comments, so ???\n
\n
I haven’t seen this before, so maybe this came in the new lemmy 0.19 update?\n
\n
What does the highlighting mean?

> I’ve got an antique lamp that needs a new switch knob, but then scope-creep happened and now I want to “smartify” it. I started off thinking that, since it has a metal body, I’d install a [capacitive touch switch](https://www.amazon.com/Control-Replacement-Function-Dimmable-Incandescent/dp/B095P35P2Q), but now it’s escalated to wanting to put an ESP8266 or ESP32 in it to handle the capacitive sensing, Home Assistant connectivity/control, and maybe even switching to some kind of low-voltage RGBW LED instead of a 120VAC Edison-base bulb (especially since I suspect I’d need some kind of antenna sticking out the top, since the metal lamp body would presumably otherwise block the ESP32’s signal).\n

> I’m aware that the “easy” way would probably be to just screw a smart light bulb into the socket and wiring I already have, but (a) I’m picky about both avoiding “clouds” and using FOSS firmware, and I don’t feel like sorting through the junk on Amazon to figure out which ones can be flashed with ESPHome, and more practically (b) that wouldn’t let me turn it on and off just by touching the lamp body, which is what sent me down this rabbit-hole in the first place.\n
> \n
> Anyway, I know this sort of thing *can* be done, but I’m not completely sure *how*. I know I could figure it out myself eventually, but I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask for advice in case somebody happens to be able to rattle off part numbers for the whole BOM off the top of their head, or knows exactly the right ESPHome howto to point me towards, or something like that. Any advice is welcome!\n
> \n
> (In case it’s relevant: my level of experience is that I programmed an Arduino to run neopixels (WS2812 RGB addressable LEDs) once, I’ve flashed ESPHome on some Sonoff S31 smart switches, and I’m a software engineer by trade but have never worked on anything IoT related professionally.)

I’m on an Arch-based Linux with VirtualBox (generic installer, couldn’t load modules with host-modules-arch) and I get this error whenever I try to import this OVA file:\n
\n
Error reading OVA ‘…/coa-aio-newton.ova’ (VERR_TAR_UNEXPECTED_EOS) Result Code: VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0X80BB0005) Component: ApplianceWrap Interface: IAppliance {86a98347-7619-41aa-aece-b21ac5c1a7e6}\n
\n
Apparently, these OVA files should be unpackable but tar doesn’t recognize it, and neither Ark or PeaZip can unzip this, but importing this OVA file works on Win 10.\n
\n
I’ve tried using VMWare but that gave me an import error too. Why can’t virtualization work at all on Arch-based systems?

I haven’t been able to find any information about this error anywhere, so I’m hoping to find some help here.\n
\n
I’m using version .150 \n
The problem persists after a phone restart. \n
I haven’t tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that’s what I’m going to try now.\n
\n
*UPDATE: Nope, that didn’t work.\n
\n
*UPDATE #2: I got frustrated with this issue and decided to install another app instead of waiting for someone to come along with the magic answer. Welp, the issue followed me to the Thunder app. This leads me to believe that it’s either an issue with my phone (possible, but I haven’t changed anything on it, either shortly before, or since this problem started) or an issue with Lemmy itself (of which I know absolutely nothing about how it works internally). \n
I did, however, see a big block of code pop up a couple times when Connect was trying and failing to load the comments, but both times it disappeared as soon as I touched the screen. I’m not a programmer, by any stretch if the imagination, so I didn’t notice if it looked weird or anything (other than appearing where it shouldn’t). I’ll keep poking at Connect and Thunder to see if I can get it to do it again so I can try to grab a screenshot.\n
\n
UPDATE #3: I was able to get the block of code to pop up again. This time it stuck around and, even though it wouldn’t let me select and copy the text, let me take pictures. It’s a pretty long chunk of (what I’m guessing is) HTML, which starts with “Error: < ! DOCTYPE html >”(minus some spaces) I took screenshots of the whole thing, but it’s like 60 screens long so, I can edit the pics into one and post it if that helps, but it will take me a while.\n
\n
UPDATE 4: This only seems to happen when I’m logged in. If I’m logged out while using the apps, I can still see the comments.

Ahoy I’m in search of a comprehensive sfx pack that will cover most sfx for dnd 5e spells and generic sounds for ambience.\n
\n
I’ve been working for a few days to track down and assemble a free soundpack for myself but for the quantity I need for this project it’s starting to look like way more hours than I’m willing/able to commit.\n
\n
I’m currently working on a program that leverages an LLM to match the last few sentences a GM says to a sound from a database.\n
\n
So that as the dm is talking they can trigger the listener who will snag 10 seconds of audio and convert it to text and submit it to the Ai to match the sentiment to an audio file which will play automatically. The program is actually in a working state… But basically I need to assemble an enormous library of sfx and it’s starting to become an issue.\n
\n
I have 11 dollars to my name and can’t purchase a pack from really any of the services that I’ve found on google… But I don’t want this project to die and I want to try a campaign with my friends and really create a cool ambiance…\n
\n
Any advice for me?

Got me thinking, cuz I’ve done my own solutions (not the popular ones, like OMV and the likes) and they work just fine, I really have no trouble managing them through the terminal, but I thought about other people (maybe people that like more managing things though a web UI) and I was like “is there something like this 🤔?”.\n

The other reason I’m asking is because I also freelance as IT solution/support and sometimes I do custom solutions for clients, like a NAS, and I would like to ease things a little user side. Sure, that will cut down on my fees, but I like client satisfaction and I think they will appreciate it ☺️.
