hi again, since i had a bad idea in my last post i wanted to try again to get some feedback i could understand and apply.\n
\n
the idea is to make a vacuum (the appliance) play a few seconds of r2d2 sounds. the vacuum is hauled around on the scaffolding on a construction site and wont be necessarily standing upright (while idle or in used).\n
\n
my original idea was to have some kind of trigger through a sensor (SW-18010, or something) that draws zero power (like a tilt switch, but position independent). that trigger should pull a pin high on the dfmini mp3 player (cheap player board) which in turn would play a few audio files while powered.\n
\n
so sensor -> 555 astable -> df mini player -> speaker (piezzo maybe).\n
\n
any ideas or pointers? is the idea of zero power in this case even possible (never used the 555 before), is maybe a attiny a better idea while in deep sleep?\n
\n
battery life of 1year + would be ideal.

Just had my 2nd lung collapse almost a year after the first . The doctors are recommending me to get a VATS surgery but I’m not sure what to expect post surgery. I have an appointment tomorrow to finalize my decision and I could ask them but I also want to know the experiences of people who had it done.\n
\n
Do you regret doing it?\n

Are there any persistent pain even years after the surgery?\n

Were you able to return to normal life after, like swimming, lifting weights etc?

Things that make me angry about my current smartphone Samsung Galaxy S21Ultra on a Verizon plan is the mandatory software updates in which they install WITHOUT MY PERMISSION stupid apps like Netflix and addictive gambling games and stacking block games and Candy crush. God knows what else they install without my permission. I don’t want any of it!\n
\n
Next phone I buy I want to start with a clean slate, I’m not going to affiliate with any conglomerate like Verizon or AT&T or Sprint or T-Mobile etc, I prefer to go rogue somehow,\n
\n
which smartphone do you recommend that has no bloatware and it’s customizable?

Nowadays I find a lot of games feel like too much work and/or anxiety when I just want to relax for like, 30 minutes to an hour after a long day. On the other hand, the games specifically designed to help you unwind just feel boring imo.\n

In the past I’ve felt like Outer Wilds scratched this itch, cause the whole experience was engaging but generally relaxed. There was a mystery that kept me hooked and the exploration and movement was fun in and of itself. I also felt like Subnautica filled this role since it was very much at my own pace, with anxiety producing portions which could for the most part be avoided or minimized, and also there was a clear objective to fulfill, get off the planet.\n

There’s a troubleshooting application for MacOS I’d be happy to buy, but the developers only offer it as on a subscription model, which is unacceptable. If I’m going to buy software, I’d better be able to own it and still be able to use that version in 10 years. Subscription is the worst of both worlds – pay for the thing, but don’t get to own it.\n
\n
I couldn’t find a crack of it on torrentmac.net, so now I’m itching to try cracking it myself. I have the free trial downloaded and installed but it expires in a couple weeks. Any tips?

Not sure if I’m allowed to name the names of services, but the one I use (not affiliated, just been using it for a few months now) has a US VPN option for $10/mo BUT there’s a $20 setup fee. Similar prices for other countries I think. If you use some of the shadier services that use browser plugins and desktop apps to “loan out traffic” then you can probably get them a lot cheaper. Just don’t install anything from the shadier ones, use the VPN config files."
