            "content": "<p>I\u2019m a guy and I\u2019m in a very customer facing line of work and I don\u2019t have that issue at all.<\/p>\n<p>As others have said, maybe it\u2019s an age thing (I\u2019m middle aged) or maybe it\u2019s a tone thing.  If I\u2019m complimenting them, it\u2019s usually on something specific; \u201cOh hey, those are really cool glasses\u201d or \u201cI love what you\u2019ve done with your hair.\u201d, etc\u2026<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s never \u201cYou\u2019ve got pretty hair, lady.\u201d or \u201cGosh yer\u2019 beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The line between platonic comment and creepy sex weirdo (in my mind) is if you\u2019re complimenting them on something they actively did that you think is cool (hairstyle, choice of glasses, etc\u2026) it\u2019s fine.  Complimenting them on features that they have no control over, like saying \u201cHey, I just wanted to, completely randomly tell you how attractive you are\u201d is creepy.<\/p>\n",
