+url: null
+body: """
I dunno when it happened but I swear SBCs were the *new best thing* in the universe for a while and everyone was building cool little servers with their RockPis and OrangePis.\n
\n
Now it’s all gone x86 and Proxmox with everyone shitting on Arm. What happened? What gives?\n
\n
Is my small army of xPis pointless? What about my 2 Edge routers?\n
\n
I’ve got about 6 xPis scattered round my flat - is there anything worth doing with them or should I just bin them?\n
\n
All thoughts, feelings and information welcome. Thank you.

Hello,\n
\n
The NixOS community has been great in helping me with my first steps in this distro. So I’ll ask again few neovim-related issues I couldn’t figure out after 3 days of search.\n
\n
First, let me tell you that I’m trying to import a working neovim setup from another distro. Then let’s see how I’ve configured neovim. I have this in my home.nix file:\n
\n
```\n
\n
<span style="color:#323232;">programs.neovim = {\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> enable = true;\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> withPython3 = true;\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> extraPython3Packages = (ps: with ps; [\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> pynvim\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> unidecode\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> black\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> isort\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> ]);\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> plugins = with pkgs.vimPlugins; [\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> { plugin = *plugin_name*;\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> type = "lua";\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> config = builtins.readFile *config_file_path*;\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> }\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> ...\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> ];\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;">};\n
</span>\n
```\n
\n
(my init.lua file is in the $HOME/.config/nvim folder)\n
\n
With that most of my plugins work. Most because few are troublesome. Let’s focus on three of them:\n
\n
1. I have pkgs.vimPlugins.nvim-comment installed but neovim reports that the command `CommentToggle` is not an editor command\n
2. I have pkgs.vimPlugins.nvim-treesitter installed but the command `TSInstall markdown` returns “could not create parser dir '/nix/store/…/nvim-treesitter/parser ': Vim:E739: read-only file system '”\n
3. I have pkgs.vimPlugins.mason-nvim and pkgs.vimPlugins.mason-lspconfig-nvim installed but runngin `checkhealth mason` returns few warnings:\n
\n
- mason.nvim is not the latest version (I use the unstable channel)\n
- pip: not available spawn: python3 failed with exit code 1 and signal 0. /run/current-system/sw/bin/python3: No module named pip (note that python3_host_prog and python3_host_prog pip are marked “OK”)\n
\n
Thanks again for your assistance.

Tucked away in rock shelters in the secluded northern mountains of Luzon in the Philippines, the Kabayan “fire” mummies lie at rest.\n
\n
These mummies are what’s left of a tradition that was carried out for hundreds of years up until the 19th century.\n
\n
Known popularly as “meking” or the “fire mummies,” these sacred remains are the preserved ancestors of the Ibaloi, one of the distinct ethnolinguistic groups of the mountainous Cordillera Benguet region.\n
\n
Some of the history of the mummies has been lost over time, but what we do know is that this process of mummification dates back as early as 200 BC and involved drying and dehydrating human remains using heat and smoke from a fire—giving us the term “fire mummy.”

Hello! I recently set up my first home server, and would like to set up qbittorrent on it. I tried using protonVPN, which is what I use on desktop, but got rate limited because torrenting on the free plan is not allowed. What do you think of [hide.me vpn](https://hide.me/en/software/linux)? it has a CLI linux version, I think I can install it inside the docker container and set up a killswitch (that should be built in? at least that’s what they say) to torrent safely.\n

I know paid VPNs are better and also pretty cheap, but I cannot afford one right now. Any tips?

Hello,\n

I’m experiencing with NixOS and would like to know what would be the nicest way to add a specific line to a system file.\n

As an example, how would you configure NixOS so the line \n
`auth sufficient pam_fprintd.so` \n
is added to the /etc/pam.d/doas file? As a bonus, it would be nice to know how to change an option (and not add an entire line) to a system file for which there is no NixOS default extraConfig/extraRules support for.\n

This would allow me to add this line or not depending on the machine NixOS will be installed on.\n

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
