            "content": "<p>There are five different file pickers on my system and I never know which application uses which one, or if my bookmarks will appear in them, or if the dialog will respect theming or display icons from a light theme on a dark background. Speaking of theming, it\u2019s a shitshow. QT and GTK apps never look even similar, and the existence of Adwaita isn\u2019t helping. If you want a flatpak app to use your preferred cursor, you have to manually grant it access to additional paths, then it\u2019s a 50\/50 chance. There is massive feature fragmentation between Wayland compositors, especially with GNOME, the \u201cuser-friendly one\u201d dragging its feet (pun intended). We didn\u2019t even have a functional on-screen keyboard until recently in Plasma. Xorg wasn\u2019t any better \u2013 you had to choose between high input latency (compositor on) or massive screen tearing (compositor off), and it was a maintenance nightmare. But let\u2019s not forget about audio either: the first time I tried to switch to Linux ~2016, I could never get PulseAudio to work reliably.<\/p>\n<p>These are only the issues I\u2019ve personally come across. I\u2019m sure others could add to the list. Having a preference of desktops is fine and I would never deprive you of that right, but saying that the Linux desktop experience across the board is \u201ceasier to use and more functional\u201d than everything else, and especially claiming it has \u201cbeen for a long time\u201d, is <strong>untrue, and fucking stupid<\/strong>. That\u2019s why you\u2019re getting downvoted.<\/p>\n<p>And don\u2019t you think I didn\u2019t notice how you never actually presented any arguments for <em>your<\/em> claims.<\/p>\n",
