I haven’t been able to find any information about this error anywhere, so I’m hoping to find some help here.\n
\n
I’m using version .150 \n
The problem persists after a phone restart. \n
I haven’t tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that’s what I’m going to try now.\n
\n
*UPDATE: Nope, that didn’t work.\n
\n
*UPDATE #2: I got frustrated with this issue and decided to install another app instead of waiting for someone to come along with the magic answer. Welp, the issue followed me to the Thunder app. This leads me to believe that it’s either an issue with my phone (possible, but I haven’t changed anything on it, either shortly before, or since this problem started) or an issue with Lemmy itself (of which I know absolutely nothing about how it works internally). \n
I did, however, see a big block of code pop up a couple times when Connect was trying and failing to load the comments, but both times it disappeared as soon as I touched the screen. I’m not a programmer, by any stretch if the imagination, so I didn’t notice if it looked weird or anything (other than appearing where it shouldn’t). I’ll keep poking at Connect and Thunder to see if I can get it to do it again so I can try to grab a screenshot.\n
\n
UPDATE #3: I was able to get the block of code to pop up again. This time it stuck around and, even though it wouldn’t let me select and copy the text, let me take pictures. It’s a pretty long chunk of (what I’m guessing is) HTML, which starts with “Error: < ! DOCTYPE html >”(minus some spaces) I took screenshots of the whole thing, but it’s like 60 screens long so, I can edit the pics into one and post it if that helps, but it will take me a while.\n
\n
UPDATE 4: This only seems to happen when I’m logged in. If I’m logged out while using the apps, I can still see the comments.

Ahoy I’m in search of a comprehensive sfx pack that will cover most sfx for dnd 5e spells and generic sounds for ambience.\n

I’ve been working for a few days to track down and assemble a free soundpack for myself but for the quantity I need for this project it’s starting to look like way more hours than I’m willing/able to commit.\n

I’m currently working on a program that leverages an LLM to match the last few sentences a GM says to a sound from a database.\n

So that as the dm is talking they can trigger the listener who will snag 10 seconds of audio and convert it to text and submit it to the Ai to match the sentiment to an audio file which will play automatically. The program is actually in a working state… But basically I need to assemble an enormous library of sfx and it’s starting to become an issue.\n

I have 11 dollars to my name and can’t purchase a pack from really any of the services that I’ve found on google… But I don’t want this project to die and I want to try a campaign with my friends and really create a cool ambiance…\n

Any advice for me?

Ahoy I’m in search of a comprehensive sfx pack that will cover most sfx for dnd 5e spells and generic sounds for ambience.\n
\n
I’ve been working for a few days to track down and assemble a free soundpack for myself but for the quantity I need for this project it’s starting to look like way more hours than I’m willing/able to commit.\n
\n
I’m currently working on a program that leverages an LLM to match the last few sentences a GM says to a sound from a database.\n
\n
So that as the dm is talking they can trigger the listener who will snag 10 seconds of audio and convert it to text and submit it to the Ai to match the sentiment to an audio file which will play automatically. The program is actually in a working state… But basically I need to assemble an enormous library of sfx and it’s starting to become an issue.\n
\n
I have 11 dollars to my name and can’t purchase a pack from really any of the services that I’ve found on google… But I don’t want this project to die and I want to try a campaign with my friends and really create a cool ambiance…\n
\n
Any advice for me?

+title: "Need To Change Privacy Strategy - Recommendations and BlackFriday"
+url: null
+body: """
Hello everyone,\n
\n
There are a few basic things in my current setup that I’m not very comfortable with. Since we’re on blackfriday -> cybermonday I think it would be a nice season to make some changes [cloud - e-mail - calendar - cloud - DNS] Here’s the deal:\n
\n
### E-mail / Calendar Strategy\n
\n
- Using tuta for more than 2 years but I still rely on my gmail address for many things; issues with Tuta:\n
- troublesome to export/make backups (worse since I have many folders, would be folder by folder)\n
- not a fan of not having an e-mail client on my desktop (not issue in mobile phone), also don’t love the calendar\n
\n
What would be ideal:\n
\n
- a nice mail provider, possibility of easy backups, possibility of using e-mail client (this one is not a hard requirement)\n
- Calendar, end-to-end encrypted: a hard requirement since I store some sensitive data there. Should be easy to see on mobile (e.g.: dedicated app); for desktop it does not matter much to me I guess the calendar requirement excludes nextcloud and most providers, as well as calDav stuff and similar\n
- I wouldn’t mind if it would be 2 products working side by side if no alternatives are available (calendar and e-mail, but not ideal)\n
\n
### Backups and Cloud Storage (for redundancy)\n
\n
- I have 1 cold backup at home, another at someone else’s home (both encrypted) but to be safe I’d like to also have a trustworthy cloud Cloud: -end-to-end encrypted or -> next bullet\n
- compatibility with cryptomator is a big plus (though I want to avoid Apple/Google/MS/Dropbox)\n
- possibility of mounting the cloud storage as drive on my computer (not hard requirement this one)\n
- could be 2 products side by side (not ideal though): a storage solution for entire backup (wasabis and stuff) and a cloud solution (day to day usage)\n
\n
### DNS for filtering\n
\n
I’d like a solution to have all traffic filtered (malware, ads) system wide on my laptop/desktop I have used adguard in the past; open to all other possibilities. I also have mullvadVPN; wouldn’t using a different DNS defeat the purpose of the VPN? Or when VPN is on, the DNS is always the one of the VPN? Possibilities:\n
\n
- controlD (i have seen people vouching for it)\n
- NextDNS (system settings)\n
- MullvadDNS (system settings)\n
- adguard desktop app\n
\n
### Malware / Virus / etc\n
\n
I have a linux desktop and macOS laptop. My doubts are regarding macOS. I’ve seen so many new antivirus ads that it almost makes me think that I should have one. I have malwarebytes installed for occasional runs and CleanMyMacX (I have doubts regarding its security claims - I use more for system management)\n
\n
- Should I opt for an antivirus program? If so, which would be advised intego is showing up all the time weirdly)\n
\n
This time of the year is when I can gear up, since financially I haven’t been at the top.\n
\n
For those that will answer, thank you so much in advance!!!

\n

If I set the PRIME profile in the Nvidia control panel to “Nvidia only”, everything works as expected.\n

But if I set the profile to “On demand”, the whole system freezes a few seconds after I open a game.\n

I read some vague comment on Reddit saying it might have something to do with me using KDE.\n

If I run it on the Intel GPU, it works no matter what profile is set (but super slow).\n

Hello scurvy dogs\n
\n
Im looking for some advice on how I should go about continuing to watch youtube while blocking / bypassing ads on my LG TV.\n
\n
I recently ended my premium subscription because of price hikes and such but webOS on LG TVs is very restrictive with its apps.\n
\n
Ive started to use LibreTube on my devices which is awsome but ive only got a couple of options that might work on the telly:\n
\n
1- I host a local Jellyfin server for all our other content needs so maybe i can integrate youtube into this somehow.\n
\n
2- Ive got a spare Pi 3b laying around that I could use as something and just HDMI to the TV which im fine with.\n
\n
Currently I think that maybe running android on the Pi and then using LibreTube on that is my best option.\n
\n
So my question is, what do you guys use / what are your setups to watch youtube ad free on ya TV?

Recently discovered the wonders of the stremio + real debrid + torrentio, works wonders on the newly bought Nvidia Shield Pro. However, I would like for the rest of the family to experinece the same, and completely get rid of all other streaming services. But… as the pirate I am, I started thinking about workarounds for only having to pay for 1 real debrid account. As my family is scattered across multiple different locations, we cannot due to RDs rules, share account, as far as I’ve understood. So my question to my fellow pirates are as follows:\n
\n
- Is there a way for me to ONLY pay for 1 RD account, yet give access to other family members?\n
- What happens if I were to run all TV’s and devices behind the same VPN(tailscale exitnode), would that be enough to to let Real Debrid think we’re all on the same network?\n
\n
I have the full *arr stack set up on the side, (but much prefer to be streaming most of what I watch). I will however download older series and shows that have multiple seasons.\n
\n
Or is the answer to this to turn to Usenet instead?\n

I’m using my mp3 player to listen to albums. I’ve been using [this site](https://free-mp3-download.net/) to download my music but it has no track number data. So I have to write that myslef manually. If there’s a a program that can download albums for my that’ll be great. Ideally I’d want it to do mp3’s at 320kbps.\n
\n
Thanks for all the help!
