We have our house and a cabin. While I guess I could make an area for the cabin, it has it’s own areas that I’d like to manage separately (and copy automations directly).\n
\n
I have purchased a HA Cloud sub but I don’t seem to be able to get the cabin to connect to Cloud.\n
\n
Do I need a separate sub for the cabin at full price? This seems a little over the top, not to mention clunky to manage with different Nabu Casa logins.\n
\n
Or am I just going about this wrong? If anyone else manages two properties and integrates it nicely, I’d love to hear your solutions. I’m mainly subbing to Cloud because of the better TTS and STT response. Maybe I just invest in a skookum whisper/piper box instead?

I’ve since found some zigbee-based irrigation valves in AliExpress that I’ll try out this summer. I made my own that used irrigation valves with a Zooz Zwave dry relay, with Home Assistant to control it. It was a giant pain to find and get everything hooked up right but afterwards it works well.\n

I’ve since found some zigbee-based irrigation valves in AliExpress that I’ll try out this summer. I think they’re about the same price as what I built per valve (considering all the parts and the time needed). I haven’t had a chance to try them yet as I got them at the end of last summer but they worked well in testing.

I installed the Auto Backup HACS integration and I have a network storage configured in Home Assistant (FYI, I’m running HAOS). If I use HA’s Developer Tools and manually call the “Auto Backup: Backup Full” service, there is a “Location” field where I can select my network storage. The backup successfully completes and saves to my network storage.\n

But in an Automation (based on the Auto Backup bluerpint), I can’t find a way to configure the Location - it defaults to HA’s data disk (i.e., `/root/backup`). DO I have to manually add the location in the yaml? If so, how do I access the actual yaml? When I select “Edit in YAML”, all I see is the barebones blueprint YAML:\n

\n
But in an Automation (based on the Auto Backup bluerpint), I can’t find a way to configure the Location - it defaults to HA’s data disk (i.e., `/root/backup`). DO I have to manually add the location in the yaml? If so, how do I access the actual yaml? When I select “Edit in YAML”, all I see is the barebones blueprint YAML:\n
\n
```\n
\n
<span style="color:#323232;">alias: Automatic Backups\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;">description: using the Auto Backup HACS integration\n
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> enable_yearly: false\n
</span>\n
```\n
\n
When I view the automation’s traces I can see much more detailed YAML, but I can’t edit it.\n
\n
Thanks for assistance.

In the mean time my phone trys to synced sensors constantly and is one of the power sinks. Is there a way to turn off sync when I am not connected to wifi or even better when I’m not at home?"

The only way I can think of is to disable the built-in updates, and set up time based shortcuts and have them do an if on wifi then trigger home assistant app sensor updates.\n
\n
The way I’d structure it is a normal shortcut that you run from as many time-based shortcuts as you want to create (so you can reuse it easily). You can check the network name you’re connected to and only run if it matches your home network.
