I love cooking, and I cook every day for me and my wife (home office since 2008 helps there), and I love hearing about new things. I have the book “The Science of Cooking” which was fascinating.
Another upside to this is that it ensures you stay focused and don’t wander off and forget that you were cooking when there’s downtime. That’s assuming this is a problem you’re prone to.
Agree with merging. We could use tags in post titles (e.g. [Recipe], [BBQ], [Ask], etc) so we can easily pick out those that interest us, and also allow us to see if a particular subtopic is gaining more popularity.
I don’t understand what you’re trying to say with the yield. The rice didn’t go anywhere. The nutritional value of that pot of rice is the same regardless of how you cook it. Different methods just produce rice that absorb different amounts of water, so the weight is different.
I’m not saying the expertise doesn’t exist. The point is that so much of our personal information is given up because of how technology is ingrained in our every day lives, so every move you make is recorded somewhere. If the general population doesn’t have that kind of access to technology, then you can’t record their every movement.
I was having a friendly discussion with someone this morning about PC and Laptops for work/education stuff, he suggested that I could use a chromebook for all this stuff and this would be a good idea and make things easier. I strongly disagreed with this, mainly because I hate laptops, the keyboard and touchpad make me angry and...
If I had to choose only one, it would be a desktop. The experience of using a machine with a good keyboard/mouse and large monitors can’t be beat, plus it’s much cheaper for the same quality of hardware. The main downside is that it’s not portable. Whether I’m working or gaming, I’m confined to that one desk. I can’t work on the couch, in the park, in the waiting room at the doctor’s office, or anywhere else I might find myself that day.
The ideal setup is to have both. A desktop for when I can be at my desk, and a cheap laptop that I can use to remote into said desktop. That way, you get the convenience of a laptop with the power of a desktop at a much more reasonable price.
Scientific papers
Any sources to get scientific papers for my own interest? Doesn’t really matter if available as torrents or on the web to view. Thanks in advance!
