MonsiuerPatEBrown, (edited ) in Would you rather be bald, or have great hair but be unable to orgasm properly?

Comparison is the thief of joy, eh ?

Both are alive.

Bald can be explained as “too much testosterone my hair was scared of my masculinity”. But you need to mop up sweat constantly.

Losing sexual function can be tough but also freeing of binds that create lots of social disarray.

tygerprints,

That's true from what I've read. Baldness actually can result from too much testosterone, and often bald men are very "hung" also. And the same with men with very curly hair - the curliness is a sign of high levels of testosterone (I've read). I've also noticed it to be true in real life (as a gay male) - curlier hair usually also meant better hung for some reason.

Aasikki, in I am to celebrate new years eve alone. How can I celebrate solo?

Do whatever is your favourite hobby but crack a few beers if you drink (or whatever else alcoholic or non alcoholic drink you enjoy) while eating some of your favourite snacks and just have some good alone time!

Gaming, knitting, scale models, whatever floats your boat.

kbal, in Are charisma and "panache" basically the same or how would you differentiate?

Panache is one thing that can contribute to charisma.

cleanandsunny, in Are charisma and "panache" basically the same or how would you differentiate?

Panache is the way someone does something. Charisma is whether the person doing it is likable and charming.

NemoWuMing, in Are charisma and "panache" basically the same or how would you differentiate?

Panache is the ability to show off in a more or less entertaining way, depending on talent. It’s a fine line between panache and cringe, and what counts as panache in one social circle might be worthless in another.

Charisma is the ability to stand out and capture people’s attention, and eventually their respect, admiration and devotion, just by the way you move, speak, act and present yourself and your ideas. If you think you have it, and you actually do, you can influence a lot. However, if you think you have it but it’s not true, then you are probably a narcissist surrounded by yes men.

Last year I started my adventure into homelab, Linux, open source and it led to other technical hobbies. Started by repurposing an old PC into a server.

This year I think I’m taking up music recording

Rhynoplaz, in How much does the original book have to change to be considered fanfiction?

Nice try, DC.

nl4real, in What is a nifty little feature modern gadgets have lost?

Graphic design with depth or shading.

lightnsfw, in I am to celebrate new years eve alone. How can I celebrate solo?

Either A. Take the time to write down your experiences from the past year, hurdles you’ve encountered, what you’ve achieved, what you want to accomplish in the coming year, and what you need to do to get there. Really dive into it and try to set the tone for a good start to 2024.

Or B. Get really fucked up on your intoxicant of choice.

variants, in I am to celebrate new years eve alone. How can I celebrate solo?

There’s usually a bunch of new years events like at a bar, concert venue, or restaurant you can go to and just hangout

Well, the answer varies a lot based on the copyright owner. If it’s something based on LOTR then the answer is a lot, but if it’s something in the public domain or with a copyright owner that’s not too strict then you may be able to keep a lot of similarities.

jol, in I am to celebrate new years eve alone. How can I celebrate solo?

For reasons, I’m also. Having some fancy dinner and watching the fireworks. Already made friends with the table next to mine, an older fun couple visiting from Sweden.

Kolanaki, in What is the goofiest Christmas present you received this year?

Copythis, in What's your favorite instrument that really gets through to you?

I’m going with the Mellotron.

It’s a keyboard that uses strings of tapes for each note. It pulls the tape over a head and plays that note until the tape runs out. When you’re playing fast, sometimes the tape isn’t all the way down, so it makes everything sound super custom.

Think Strawberry Fields by the Beatles. That’s a Mellotron you’re hearing.

dudinax, in Does anyone else feel like every year is like the movie 'Groundhog Day'? Same holidays, same birthdays, same work week, etc

That’s not how it works. When you’re stuck in a Groundhog Day, you’re the only one that notices.
