I wish I had as much (misplaced) confidence as this frog

I’ve got one just like it at home. Even worse is the whistling whines. You wouldn’t think a creature that big could whine, but it sure does. It probably doesn’t help that I always give in eventually.

The door bill is getting expensive.

Here in Brazil we have a bird that will attack anything that comes close to its nest. (That they make in low grass.)

Airports have constant swipes looking for them.

sugar_in_your_tea, in 13 January 2024

This was one of my favorites as a kid, and I still love it. :)

When keeping it real goes wrong

pineapplelover, in 15 January 2024

I’m confused. What’s the joke?

bionicjoey,

I think it’s that it’s a “disabled” space since the bug is missing some legs

Evia,
@Evia@lemmy.world avatar

I don’t even see it as a joke. lol disabled people? What am I missing here?

synae,

“what if centipedes had parking lots”

Evia,
@Evia@lemmy.world avatar

Well yeah but why is that funny?

starman2112,
@starman2112@sh.itjust.works avatar

It’s funny because centipedes don’t need parking lots lol

TeryVeneno,

It’s just funny because of the absurdity of centipede parking lots. Nothing much else to it, the ridiculousness is enough.

Evia,
@Evia@lemmy.world avatar

Ah, okay, thanks for explaining

pineapplelover,

Ahh I didn’t even notice the amount of legs

XTornado,

To me the size of the sign confused me, I didn’t think it was a parking space that part.

    But if they did, this would still be a ridiculous handicapped parking spot.

    Chemical, in 15 January 2024

    Bet the red cap has “MMGA, make mars great again”

    Murdoc,

    At least we can see how that turned out. 😆

    AFKBRBChocolate,

    I came here to say I think it’s funny that in 1994 Larson drew the gun rights alien with a red baseball hat.

    FurtiveFugitive, in 15 January 2024

    One of the few ones that would actually be better with the caption if you ask me.

    not_woody_shaw, in 16 January 2024

    Florida man…

    TheRealLinga, in 16 January 2024

    Can someone explain this?

    synae,
    @synae@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

    Seems like it’s meant to suggest it was a comic idea mailed in by a fan. But, I don’t believe that’s something Larson actually did/does, so the joke is that he takes fan submissions, no matter how absurd - perhaps commentary on his own work not always making sense?

    “yes”

    zeusbottom, in 16 January 2024

    Looking at this, it occurs to me that no one has made a good pocket protector joke in a long time, probably because protectors are all but extinct.

    It makes sense, but I never thought about it until now.

    I think people realized that instead of putting pens in your pocket, you can just put them everywhere else! Pens everywhere the eye can see!!!

    sugar_in_your_tea,

    Can confirm, I’ve misplaced enough pens that there’s always one within reach.

    Now that’s smarter than your average bear right there.

    Evil_Shrubbery, in 16 January 2024

    Well, I have one or two pockets to keep my pens in as well …
