Blackmist,

And why are there multiple sizes of NVME screw?

Blackmist,

I could have been a member of house Makita, but house DeWalt was slightly closer and it was raining on the day I needed a drill.

Blackmist,

It could have worked because people who need the /s are the same people driving an SUV like that anyway.

Blackmist,

I sometimes think that mine is working alright, and then I try and use it in the dark and it fails 3 times in a row because it turns out it usually gives up and uses face recognition.

And this is a proper Google phone. What must the shit brands be like?

And the only advantage is that you have more screen space which is now covered with indicators for back, home, etc, because you can fuck off if you think I’m using gestures for that shit.

Blackmist,

Whenever I’m subjected to terrestrial TV, the only thing I end up watching is the second half of movies I’ve seen a dozen times before.

I grew up with only having 4 channels, but holy shit having some actual agency over what you watch was a game changer.

Blackmist,

What, so they can lock it behind the Star Trek Plus channel, just 4.99 a month on top of Amazon Prime.

Now with extra targeted adverts!

Blackmist,

See, that works for a farm.

I don’t see how it works for a $40 billion chip fabrication plant.

I feel like the Steam Deck is the best proof of Gabe Newell's quote that "piracy is a service issue."

They could have easily crammed the Steam Deck full of stuff to make it hard to use for piracy - locking down everything, making it usable only to play games you legitimately own, force you to go through who knows what hoops in order to play games on it. That’s what Nintendo or Apple or most other companies do....

Blackmist,

The sales are shit and have been for years.

The price of PC getting popular I guess.

Blackmist,

Remember when we all suddenly needed personal firewalls after that one virus that kept shutting down the PC with 60 seconds notice.

Blackmist,

I distinguish four types. There are clever, hardworking, stupid, and lazy officers. Usually two characteristics are combined. Some are clever and hardworking; their place is the General Staff. The next ones are stupid and lazy; they make up 90 percent of every army and are suited to routine duties. Anyone who is both clever and lazy is qualified for the highest leadership duties, because he possesses the mental clarity and strength of nerve necessary for difficult decisions. One must beware of anyone who is both stupid and hardworking; he must not be entrusted with any responsibility because he will always only cause damage.

– Kurt von Hammerstein

LinkedIn is Facebook for that last type.

Blackmist,

Checked on the dashboard as per the other comment.

It’s subtitles. I’m probably going to try Kodi as a client, see how that goes. Shame, because I quite like the Jellyfin client UI, it just doesn’t work with some files.

Blackmist,

Subtitle codec is not supported.

I think they’re in ASS format, according to the subtitle selection menu, embedded in the mkv file.

Is there no way to convert that to something that is supported?

It doesn’t help that this is Across the Spider Verse, so it’s not exactly what most video codecs are expecting. The playback quality with no subs is light-years ahead of the transcoded version.

Blackmist,

Had to use a paperclip for mine. Didn’t even come with one.

Blackmist,

Literally the first link Google gave me for seafood sauce recipe

Ingredients

5 Tablespoons mayonnaise

5 Tablespoons Tomato ketchup tomato chutney

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

½ teaspoon Tabasco Sauce

1 teaspoon Horseradish Sauce (optional)

a squeeze of lemon or lime juice

I mean, you could take out the mayo and just eat horseradish. Depends where you live and how much you like spicy shit.

Blackmist,

It’s possibly search engines doing the whole regional thing. 🤷

Blackmist,

Like the second was ever going to happen, even without the first one.

The real second option is “cut taxes for our rich mates”.

Blackmist,

I think that’s always been the case, even before streaming or home-taping “killed the music industry”.

Blackmist,

Yeah, the music people were dying to piracy for a good while there.

Spotify is streaming done right. It’s all there, no need to search for which service has it, or pay 99p a track for it.

The TV and movie people should take note, because their streaming services are fucking dire in comparison. For all the stuff Disney owns, there’s a surprising amount of fuck all new on Disney+. It mostly seems to be milking old shite into TV shows nobody asked for.

Blackmist,

Weird isn’t it? I don’t recognise either of them, I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen that one, everyone appears clothed, yet it just has porn vibes.

Blackmist,

I think the main money maker isn’t rent. It’s owning (or at least having a mortgage on) property that doubles in value every ten years.

The rent often just pays for the mortgage and upkeep. The main payday comes when they sell it all off to the next parasite.

Blackmist,

Now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time.

The guy who invented it sounds like a certified nutcase.

In 2016, Pulitzer appeared as a treasure hunter on The Curse of Oak Island on the History Channel. He searched for the Ark of the Covenant and working with amateur historians from the Ancient Artifact Preservation Society he claimed that a sword found in the waters off Oak Island in Nova Scotia had “magical magnetic properties” and was evidence of Roman presence in North America and contact with the Miꞌkmaq, which a historian of that people dismissed. An archaeologist and a science writer criticized Pulitzer’s claim, suggested the sword was a replica said that Pulitzer threatened to sue them.

Certainly sounds like the same guy.
