Solid plan, though the DLC adds an amazing micro-zone with its own, very fun plotline that can even add additional endings to the base game.
I bought the base game on sale about a year ago, and then was confident enough to pull the trigger on the dlc on release. The game is really great at this point, was totally worth it.

10 mil is definitely easier, but if you memorized important global events and stock market crashes or explosions you could potentially build an empire. 10 mil would be chump change at that point. You could potentially maneuver yourself into positions of extreme power and help to shape the world, possibly change it for the better in the process.
Well I would imagine my parents would pay attention to a 6 year old with the intellect and speech capability of a fully grown adult, especially once i tell them I can predict important future events and deliver a couple examples. Then I could ask them to create a trust fund and make it invest according to my foreknowledge. 25 years later and it’s a global empire with controlling shares in all major corporations.
See my other comment on this. I’m fairly sure I could get my parents to listen, whom would then do the investing for me, with a lot more than just an allowance (kids can’t invest anyway).
To be fair to the idea, it would work out just fine if just a single spacefaring species evolved, discovered their piece of the puzzle and then sought out the others.
I do concede that it is really unlikely that they would all evolve on all puzzle planets at roughly the same time and all be spacefaring around the same time. But I guess that’s why it’s a plot device to bring them all together and kinda explain why everyone is human with weird eyebrows, ears or noses.
I would think the puzzle is a sort of trial to ensure that their seeded race(s) were sufficiently developed to gain something from that message, insight into their origins and/or more philosophical questions that we as humans are still striving to answer.
As for the humanoid forms everywhere, yeah you absolutely need to suspend your disbelief a bit for that. Still I think it’s the only in universe explanation for it no?

The one I noticed it the most with is hexbear. I know they have a bad rep but I like to keep an open mind and tried a bunch of times to chime in whenever I saw one of their posts pop up on the all feed i felt I had something relevant to add to.
I also know they are a bit echo chamber-y so I assumed they might have a special hidden restriction in place for non-approved instances. I would be surprised if they actually banned my personal account because I don’t think I wrote anything they might consider controversial.
But the fact remains that (as far as I understand) my feed would not show any of their content if my instance was not federated with them, no?
Interesting, how can I see this for myself? I suppose using a client for Lemmy since day 1 made me not learn these basic things and I want to check some other instances where I suspect the same.
No idea what I did to offend but I guess I can safely block their instance from my feed then. It’s a bit annoying the user isn’t warned or straight up prevented from participating when banned.

Free web search gives me a whole page of SEO pages, cached reddit content that’s been deleted when you click it, or one of like five tech giants and their crap.
Unless you are very specific and already know what site you are looking for it is extremely difficult to simply find information now, if you just want an answer you locate the relevant reddit or discord community and try your luck there, or ask a LLM to give you an answer because you can’t wade through the sheer amount of non- and disinformation out there now.
Of course, the LLM is also trained on this bullshit and not actually smart, so at best you get an idea where you can look for the information it regurgitated if you make it cite its sources, and do your own research from there.

Eh, as i get older I kinda like the small gesture, and there are plenty of small things that show you care that virtually anyone can make use of:

From that voyager episode with horny belana we learn that Vulcans are basically assigned a mate, so the chances are slim that a vulcan would need release without an outlet. And aside from that, the ponfarr can also be dealt with through meditation and discipline, probably particularly created for the situations you mention where there actually is no partner available.
