HumbertTetere,

All true, just want to add to it.

You can bring the mace anyway, just in case, as long as you don’t mind carrying it. One other major benefit is that the things could be dirt cheap because you don’t need good quality metal.

But if you want to hit people, and have a money and time for training, go for an axe. Pretty much all the advantages of a mace, but can cut on top (and usually poke too).

The other part of the equation is not getting killed, and usually the guys in heavy armor are good at killing you. Getting in striking range for a medium range weapon like a mace/axe/sword is damn dangerous, so a slower weapon like a mace or axe that’s additionally bad at defending because of a more distant point of balance means a much increased risk to your life. So if it’s one on one, you should really think twice about trying to getting that lucky strike in.

HumbertTetere,

spoiler. If you want to talk her back from the edge, you need to succeed on either a whopping DC 30 or a DC 21 persuasion check. If you can’t do that, you either need to kill her, let her leave your party for good, or allow her to go through with spearing the Nightsong.

spoiler.I experienced this is not always the case. My Shadowheart threw away the spear both when I encouraged her to do so successfully and when I just told her I had her back however she decides. Only in case of encouraging violence did she kill the Nightsong, so it might also depend on your previous interactions. I’m playing a good druid with Shadowheart as a LI.

HumbertTetere,

Wall isolation is pretty fine as it is, main weaknesses are windows and thermal bridging.

We still have the issue that a perfectly isolated house will need to lose the heat created by humans and electric systems, so actual cooling is required.
