KISSmyOS,

I bet Jämtland gets bullied by all the others:
“You forgot what a cross looks like? Saint Philip never liked you.”

KISSmyOS,

I think he’s more of a “Kraft Singles” kinda guy.

KISSmyOS,

Fun fact: Kraft used to label the product as “Pasteurized Processed Cheese Food” until the FDA slapped them with a warning cause they didn’t meat the quality requirements for that label.

KISSmyOS,

Google, Amazon and Facebook will never see another cent, ad-view or personalized data point from me.
So far, this has affected relatively little to be honest. The most impact was losing access to WhatsApp.

KISSmyOS,

I’ll take a foldable solar panel, a tablet PC with its entire storage full of porn, and the dog.
Everything else I need I’ll trade in exchange for a half hour in my dog-guarded porn booth.

KISSmyOS,

I know. So I take the dog and the Jeep x3, and sell the three Jeeps to some idiots while the gas still isn’t spoiled.

KISSmyOS,

For that, I’d have to go into office buildings regularly, and they were full of zombies even before the apocalypse.

Life(lengthening )hack: Office chairs aren’t stepladders.

KISSmyOS,

Same here.

KISSmyOS,

Luckily Xfce exists which gives you back all of the configurability of old Gnome.
Move those panels around, add as many as you like!
Me, I’ve just looked at screenshots of old gnome and can’t remember why I ever thought 2 panels visible at all times were a good idea.
I love current gnome, cause with a single extension I can hide literally all of it until I need to bring it up with the super-button. And then I have my favorite apps, open windows, workspaces, systray, clock and a search field all visible at once.

KISSmyOS,

And on a modern Linux system, there’s a limit to how many can run simultaneously, so while it will bog down your system, it won’t crash it. (I’m running it right now)

KISSmyOS,

True capitalism has never been tried!

(only way to get rich is to work more hours than someone else)

In our current system, this is not how you get rich, AT ALL.
Billionaires aren’t people who worked 3 jobs and lived with roommates until they made it. They’re not even in the same class as these people.

KISSmyOS,

For me, the issue with Debian stable currently isn’t the applications, but the DE. Wayland support and UX gets better with every update of Gnome/KDE, and that isn’t something you can install via flatpak.

KISSmyOS,

“Stability” is probably the most mis-used word in the Linux world.
It means that how your system looks and behaves doesn’t change, which is really important for servers, especially in business, where you want to plan any change in advance before you commit to it.
Arch is not stable in this sense. It constantly changes, and those changes can come up on short notice with any upgrade.

But when people read that Arch isn’t stable, they think the system can break at any time.
I’d say this hasn’t been the case for at least 10 years now. If you RTFN (read the fucking news) and use the AUR sensibly, Arch has become a really boring system, regarding breakage.

KISSmyOS,

I’ve read that the only way to get usable speeds is to set your wifi device up inside a linux container.

KISSmyOS,

I haven’t had any recent issue with those either. Just make sure both the nvidia driver and the kernel are from your distros repository, and you always update them both at the same time.

KISSmyOS,

You should switch to rolling release memes, yours are outdated.

KISSmyOS,

Oh god, why did you have to trigger that memory???

This isn’t a Linux compatibility issue. You bought a device where the manufacturer told you in advance that a driver for the built-in wifi module doesn’t exist yet. It’s a product at the development stage.

So just follow the manufacturer’s recommendation from the product page: use a wifi dongle for now and pat yourself on the back for being an early adopter.

KISSmyOS,

I’m old enough but it’s not the case anymore.
