I worked for a wireless ISP that had this problem with one style of dish we were using and this was the solution the engineers wanted us to take (just stripping the insulation to let water drip out before it got inside anything).
It was dumb because the POE the line was going into would very easily catch fire if water was introduced through the Ethernet cable. We had alternative dishes that we should have been swapping out for, but of course they wanted to save money instead of being safe.
Raccoon for Lemmy came out in Early Access the other day and I’m checking that out to replace Liftoff, since it’s unlikely Liftoff will get updated before most of the instances update to 0.19 and break the app.
Note on Liftoff: Dev has apparently vanished and 0.19 doesn’t work with it. As more instances update to the newest version of Lemmy, Liftoff becomes more useless. :(
The first time I took a cab in Germany, I went to a mall; dude drove right into the building. I was like “wtf is this dude doing?” As we passed a parking area and went through the concourse.
Given the amount of videos on these games you’d think they were super popular and well known, but when they were brand new nobody knew about 'em. To this day, I rarely find anyone who actually played them when they were first launched on an actual DOS computer and not through GOG and DOSBox.
Even today, it’s rare that I run into people who know how awesome they are. They had it all; bitchin’ graphics, insane action, amazing FMV with actual acting and costumes… Other than the controls, they still hold up today.
