LainOfTheWired, to linuxmemes in Linux users when

Was going to upvote then saw them install chrome. Just why? Use Firefox or Chromium

LainOfTheWired, (edited ) to linuxmemes in Need to switch to Hanna Montana Linux now
@LainOfTheWired@lemy.lol avatar

Just why?

It’s been really sad watching them shoot themselves in the foot like this. They seem bent on destroying their distro. Which was the first distro I really used on an old laptop after trying a few.

Man Ubuntu 16 those were the days.

LainOfTheWired, to linuxmemes in Bye bye edge
@LainOfTheWired@lemy.lol avatar

People have already proven they will put up with about anything Microsoft throws at them, so they were never going to switch anyway.

Also you still can’t uninstall the bootloader under windows.😆

LainOfTheWired, to linuxmemes in It happens 🤷
@LainOfTheWired@lemy.lol avatar

You guys have windows partitions?

I wouldn’t expect logic from the company that now acts like unreal and unreal tournament which made them the company they are today don’t exist. Like seriously you delisted all of it. What is wrong with you!

Of course they do. It’s just they’re no longer afraid of telling us they are

LainOfTheWired, to linux in Why do you use the terminal?
@LainOfTheWired@lemy.lol avatar
  1. It feels great
  2. Terminal programs run on a potato
  3. They are almost always way more powerful then their GUI counterparts
  4. They integrate with scripts and other tools for unlimited power and flexibility!
  5. You feel like a hacker man
  6. Your IT literate friends think you are cool
  7. You can really do things your own way

So yeah I love using the terminal for almost everything

Throw your phone out. Get a small librebooted laptop and use an android emulator for any apps.

Honesty I find it so dumb when someone is teaching someone a new card game, and they use a super powerful deck and absolutely wreck them.

Like what are you trying to prove.

There was one time I did that in Pokémon, but only because my friend had never played and was convinced in a joking way he could beat me if I played with my good deck, so to go with his joke I thrashed him with my good deck and then we laughed about it.

It’s like these people can’t stand to lose to the point they have to protect their fragile egos from a newbie.

If you play with a new player use balanced beginner friendly decks like the Pokémon battle academy decks or the MTG starter decks.

LainOfTheWired, to linux in I've started building a TUI for Lemmy
@LainOfTheWired@lemy.lol avatar

That looks epic!

Please add the ability to view images with an external image viewer as I find a lot of social TUI apps seem to lack that.

Add that and you’re making my ideal Lemmy client

I’ve been reading to much manga, I started reading the panels backwards😅. Great comic though!

LainOfTheWired, to linux in Gentoo goes Binary (packages)
@LainOfTheWired@lemy.lol avatar

I think it’s a good move. It doesn’t take anything away from people who want to keep compiling everything, but now people on especially old laptops can enjoy the distro too.

Though I will probably continue being a void user this makes me want to use gentoo more then it did before.

Apparently it can also read any decryption keys read by the cpu.

LainOfTheWired, to linux in Just about every Windows and Linux device vulnerable to new LogoFAIL firmware attack
@LainOfTheWired@lemy.lol avatar

I wonder if this effects coreboot builds like heads as they allow you to use external devices like a nitrokey for verification when you boot
