jacktherippah,

I got no one to switch. Eventually I just gave up as people were getting sick of me always recommending alternatives no one else uses.

Why do most people refuse to accept that they are wrong

I have come across a lot’s of people like these. like 99% of them. Sometimes it makes me think twice if what i am saying is wrong? What’s wrong with them. Is it so hard to swallow your pride and acknowledge that the other person is speaking facts? When they come to know they are wrong they proceed to insult/make fun of...

jacktherippah,

We’re not wrong OP, you’re wrong!!! Right, guys?

I can’t wait to graduate college so I can stop using my Google account. I still have to use mine for the online office suite. I use LibreOffice if it’s just me but I have to collaborate and do group assignments on Google Docs and Slides too.

jacktherippah,

Vietnamese gang. There are dozens of us! DOZENS!

jacktherippah,

Glad I could help!

jacktherippah,

I’d get the Pixel because of the long, not to mention timely software updates and security patches, better hardware and GrapheneOS. If you do get the Fairphone, use DivestOS. See this comparison

jacktherippah,

It’s kinda sad how we treat cancer today by literally injecting poison into our veins. I hope some day it will be like the flu. Couple pills, couple days of recovery, boom! No more cancer.

jacktherippah,

You’ve just tripped Knox and permanently lost multiple features

jacktherippah,

It does. Unlocking the Samsung bootloader blows the e-fuse. Locking your bootloader again won’t do anything to restore functionality.

jacktherippah,

Good ol’ vanilla survival Minecraft. Very fun with friends.

Privacy benefits of Custom roms

So recently my moto G60 reached the end of life with respect to security updates. That was the reason I was using to prevent myself from switching to a custom rom(actual reason is laziness). This phone has rom support for pixel experience and lineage OS. So my questions are if pixel experience has any privacy advantages when...

jacktherippah, (edited )

Pixel Experience has zero advantage for your privacy. LineageOS really doesn’t do much to protect your privacy (or security). That’s hardly surprising since privacy&security was never the goal of LineageOS to begin with. The only things Lineage will do for your privacy is 1. Remove Google Play Services 2. Remove your OEM’s built in tracking. Installing Google Play Services will negate 1. If you are serious about your privacy and is willing to make sacrifices, your best option would be GrapheneOS, followed by DivestOS. The latter supports many of the devices supported by LineageOS, so check if your device has support.

jacktherippah,

Ah nice. Thanks for the recommendation. I do remember the F91W backlight being really bad.

jacktherippah,

I wear Mi Bands with Gadgetbridge but when this thing dies I might switch back to a Casio F91W.

jacktherippah,

Hey thats what my Asian mom doeswhen I tell her I did something! Must be getting the headshakes in, burnin’ some calories, eh?

I’m not sure another civizilation is possible on Earth within our lifetime. Look what we’re doing to the planet. Even if some species did evolve to become highly intelligent like our ancestors, humans would put them in a lab somewhere to study long before a civilization has a chance to develop.

jacktherippah,

When will the Proton Mail client not rely on GMS for push notifications

jacktherippah,

If you REALLY need it, I’ve seen some people recommend ClamAV but really, I don’t like the concept of antiviruses. They run with I’m assuming full access to your storage and generally bog down your system performance. IMO, the best line of defense for your system is you. Use your common sense, stray clear of the shady websites, stick to well known and safe recommendations (especially relevant since you sail the high seas) and don’t run random commands from the internet.

jacktherippah,

You don’t need an antivirus. No one needs an antivirus. Common sense is good enough.

Have actors record a video for the kid. Make the video start with “Kal El, my son.”

jacktherippah,

Lmfao I was reading the parent comment thinking “hey thats actually pretty decent” and then you hit me with this. Instant “oh…”

jacktherippah, (edited )

Yes, working in Eternity. No comments, upvotes, downvotes tho, only the content.

jacktherippah,

Uhhh…hmmm…Iron Man’s arc reactor suit from Avengers Endgame.

jacktherippah,

smspool.net works great for me. Tried with GMail, Apple ID, and ChatGPT.
