The version I grew up with was “it’s fleece was white as snow”, not black as coal.

Which also rhymes better with “sure to go”

nilloc,

As the parent of a current Kindergartener (and also a former one myself), give your wife a big hug for us. Her job is so important, a especially if we want this world’s society to turn around and fix the problems it’s made for itself.

Car diagnostic software and tunning software?

Hello all. I was looking for a specific Car diagnostic software package and I noticed that this type of software doesn’t come across often on the seas. are their any good places I can go to start looking for this kind of software. The software often cost up to 500 dollars or more and for me it would be a one time maiby 2 time...

nilloc,

What kind of connector are you using to the car?

The cheap OBD dongles are all elm 327 only support a basic error reading and clearing, and some basic engine metrics.

My brother and I were kids during the end of the Cold War and definitely got this one. But my dad was a gallows humor type who claimed he’d run toward the mushroom clubs if it ever happened, better to end it quick.

Edit: Mushroon Clouds thanks autocorrect.

nilloc,

OG iPod is missing too. Clickwheel for the win.

Maybe as the world has leaned in even harder on the absurd, that the Far Side absurdity doesn’t land anymore. Or it could be that we’re all older and realize how absurd the rest of reality is. Sorta like how The Onion has to hit pretty hard now to manage satire in the last 8-10 years.

OpenJSSCAD helps with the spaghetti code, unless you also write JS spaghetti, but I only use it for creating tools I want non-tech people to use.

It lets you make parameters editable from a web based UI of your liking with the model code hidden away, and can output decent meshes.

nilloc,

With peppers and onion sautéed or sauerkraut/kimchee if your into that.

The first 3 I listed are why, yes. And it sucks that the Supreme Court and some dudes 250 years ago put us in this situation.

nilloc,

Sure we have plenty of high-hanging fruit:

  • antiquated voting laws
  • asymmetrical representation
  • oligarchy via political funding
  • military industrial complex

But we didn’t start a world war that killed millions of people, that we’re still digging up unexploded munitions from, and that gave us the ability to fix some of our governmental systems and implement social and societal change (at least for white European folks).

nilloc,

I agree on the outcome, I’m saying they don’t care what the fired employee really thinks, they just need to cover their asses in the event an employee sues them. And they are also doing it to discourage the fired employee from suing by showing them they’ve already built a case against them.

nilloc,

HR will say it’s your fault so that the company saves on severance and unemployment insurance reimbursements. They pass off those costs to state taxes and the fired employees.

Admitting fault and admitting they are firing perfectly capable workers is more expensive and hurts the bottom line, which is all they are really there to protect.

nilloc,

I think it’s the your synapses you need to worry about, but I forget, I love my 60/40 too. Still have a couple big rolls from RadioShack.

Really though if you wash hands after handling it, and use it in such small hobby scale quantities as most, it won’t matter. The smoke from the burning rosin is probably more dangerous.

nilloc,

This isn’t new though, many boomers were the hippies at one point, they had the photocopier, fairness doctrine TV & Radio and liberal attitudes for sex, gender, and civil rights.

But the same tactics were used to stop and convert many of them, plus around half of them were the same sort of assholes that give them a bad name now.

FTFY

nilloc,

Just a stone with “Nothing” carved in it would be an even more powerful troll.

Might get dug up too often by people assuming there’s something under it though.

nilloc,

I was about to post a tshirt with their comment on Etsy, but the NC stopped me.

nilloc,

That’s more like it!

Who doesn’t love a pimply bum?

nilloc,

Cowboys and harmonicas are usually the trope. This guy brought a Susa phone (to be pedantic about the tuba).

Yeah, I’m confused. Depo-Provera is a contraceptive that needs to be administered every 3 months to prevent pregnancy. And it doesn’t end a pregnancy, it’s been deemed safe for pregnant women and women who (unlikely but possibly) become pregnant after an injection.

It also may help prevent some cancers of the reproductive tract.

Skeptical of the guardians article or the message that people are taking from it.

nilloc,

I lost my dad in my 30s and I still want to ask him to build stuff with me. My 6 year old would have loved to too, so I’m trying to take better care of myself than my dad did, so we have a lot longer together.
