What are your best air fryer/oven recipes?

My parents got me one of them fancy countertop air fryer/oven things and idk what to cook first when I get it set up. According to the box, it does everything a normal oven does as well as air fries. It can hold two whole chickens or 1 frozen pizza. It came with a rack for things like toast and a baking sheet. I also have a...

otter,

Followup question 1: What are some MythBusters episodes that you recommend everyone try?

otter, (edited )

The specific breakdown was as follows

We recommend Mullvad Browser if you are focused on strong privacy protections and anti-fingerprinting out of the box, Firefox for casual internet browsers looking for a good alternative to Google Chrome, and Brave if you need Chromium browser compatibility.

So I think they only recommend Brave for those that need Chromium

For mobile browsers, I don’t quite understand the differences between each. I personally use Mull when I need it, but Brave might be better on Mobile still?

otter,

Good to know, I don’t think I’ve ever really seen it

otter,

On boost I swipe from the right side of the screen when on a community

On connect I hit the 3 dots and go “About community”

otter,

Is it possible you tried Keepass? I thought Bitwarden’s UI was pretty good and modern, and that’s one of the silly reasons why I picked it over keepass long time ago

otter,

I guess this isn’t necessarily good, but it’s a bit of a fun story?

That’s fair enough, it’s really location based. Around where I am, telegram isn’t that popular. I’ve met a few people using Signal and I have friends/collegues pop up in the “____ has Signal” section of the app.

We don’t really have a dominant chat app around here, there’s a good mix of messenger/instagram/iMessage, with some groups sticking to Whatsapp/WeChat/Viber.

I am trying to find a simple evidence-based way to encourage my family to change their minds, but it appears it will only make me look paranoid

I think part of it is because it’s hard to convince people without first explaining how things work. Not much use in worrying about it if you can’t, just look out for yourself. What you COULD do is to use the private option when you need to talk about something sensitive. If the app is installed on their phone then they’re more likely to use it, and even if not then you’re looking out for yourself

otter,

Community blocking happens on Lemmy so I think it should be possible regardless

For anyone else reading about this :)

otter,

Sorry the post was unclear, I just clarified. Doodling on a napkin was an example of post format, to show that it doesn’t need to be very detailed :)

otter,

What are napkins but unstitched socks

otter,

The process is a bit involved on mobile. Setting up a backup location, using a third party app to sync updates and deletions etc. It could be simplified by integrating with common cloud storage services (the encrypted file)

Also iOS doesn’t have backups at all last I checked. If you lose your phone the messages are toast

otter,

Well sure, but encrypted backups are still secure. What’s not secure (or private rather) is someone realizing they can’t have a backup of important chats and going back to Facebook Messenger.

Backups are a thing on Android, and they’re planned for iOS. It just hasn’t happened yet. People can choose what they want to backup and when they want disappearing messages turned on.

otter,

The biggest thing for me right now is backups

I can’t comfortably recommend it to people that will lose access if they lose their phones / upgrade without following the process perfectly

I think the table should be off site on a guide website

As for the rendering, which app are you using? I’ve found that too (Boost misses most rendering for me)

otter,

Odd, I wonder what the difference is

otter,

Alternate link because this is worth sharing with others (who might not understand what this frontend is): www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyqNYGCmkQU

otter,

I saw that some people put emulators on them and thought it might be cool to have.

I’ll be honest, I don’t quite understand the hardware side of it and where the bottleneck will be

otter,

Do you have any recommendations on which ones to go with?

Black Friday is coming up and I’ve wanted to try too

otter,

Depending on where you’re located, instagram is also pretty good to get things going. Making a short graphic for each article should be a nice balance. You COULD make a reel/story/tiktokVideo for more engagement, but personally I’d avoid a creator doing stuff like that.

I’d say, in order:
