stoy,

I have said it before, but it is worth repeating, if you want to transfer a large file over the internet between two persons, Bit Torrent is still a good solution.

You obviously need to encrypt the data before sending it, but 7zip should sort that out for you, you then just create a torrent and send the torrent file over, and seed the torrent until completion.

As long as the file is securely encrypted and both sides terminate the torrent as soon as the intended recipient has the file, the risk of data leakage is minimal.

stoy,

Oh yeah, magnet links exists

stoy,

Like with anything, too much of it will look/taste/smell/sound bad.

Is that a reason in and of itself to not build wind power plants? No.

Personally I find wind power plants to look cool, a bit sci-fi and futuristic.

The argument that they are ugly is dumb, using a term like “visual pollution” is just a way to try and make a subjective oppinion sound like objective fact.

stoy,

Keeping a local library on your phone and computer.

No need to worry about if a streaming service changes anything, not pepetual bulls just to listen to music

stoy,

I buy all my mysic on iTunes, and have done so for a long time, it makes my music library more focused and I have no worry if loosing access if I can’t pay rent.

stoy,

Considering I can get the files without DRM from iTunes, I don’t understand what you are talking about.

However, thank you for reminding me that I need to do so.

stoy,

That’s fair, I have about 720 songs bought on my iPhone, and plenty more downloaded from remix64.com in VLC

What is the least shit online store of the shitty ones? such as: Wish, AliExpress, etc..

What is the least shitty shit store? Never had a good experience with any of the shops such as, wish, aliexpress and the rest of em. But which one of them is considered the better one, or more likely to actually arrive with the correct item? Is etsy considered better than the rest? Are there any of these “low priced” stores...

stoy,

Limmared.nu is a small radio supply shop in Limmared that have great ratings and works well.

Apotea.se is an excellent online pharmacy, with quick delivery times.

Inet.se is an excellent computer store, they have physical locations in Stockholm and Gothemburg.

stoy,

It has been said that you only really fail if you don’t learn from the experience, this is true in most cases, escpacially those that makes you ask this question.

So to answer your question, you learn snd show others that you have learned.

Say you are working a papermill and you make a misstake causing and entire batch of product worth €5000000 to be ruined, a bad manager would just fire you, a good manager would understand that he just spent €5000000 training you not to do that, and that training would stick, and keep you.

stoy,

I am getting flashbacks to the multimedia keyboards on yesteryear:

Thanks MS, but no thanks, I don’t need it.

stoy,

I will admit that the volume wheel was awesome

stoy,

My dad rejected those answers, instead, he chose something different, he chose… Festool!

stoy,

I don’t really budget, I live alone, and make enough money to support myself and live a decent life.

But I do have a few rules:

  1. I will never set up any kind of subscription, be it media (HBO, Netflix, Disney+, Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal), apps (Flightradar24, Vesselfinder), games (Geoguessr). What I will do is buy prepaid cards with credit for those services, and activate them for a set period of time, but I will never buy into a recurring charge for a service, I have seen too many people ruining their economy with subscriptions being a big contributer.
  2. I seldom give into impulse buying expensive stuff, but if I have the money and can afford it I am not against buying quallity even if it more expensive at first.
  3. I don’t accept a seller or sales system stressing me out to buy as fast as possible, I can and have just walked away when I felt uncomfortable with how fast the sale if being pushed, I want to have time to think about if this thing is worth it for that price and if I need it now before I buy it.
stoy,

They used to allow that, but removed it in favour if having a switch to turn on and off internet access for the card, it is crap.

stoy,

Yep, it was an old system, I think it was flash based, which makes it understandable that they shut it off, but not that they didn’t replace it with an updated system.

stoy,

I mean, I would be thrilled if the government started using all the data they collected about me and start machmaking.

stoy,

Just block the repost communities, there are very few communities with both reposts and an active userbase.

‘Amazing’: Queensland mum uses electric car to ‘save’ son’s life with dialysis during power outage (www.theguardian.com)

An electric vehicle owner has used her car’s emergency power system to run her 11-year-old son’s lifesaving dialysis machine and another has ridden to the rescue of his neighbours after devastating storms cut power in south-east Queensland....

stoy,

I would not be surprised if EVs will be an integral part of the future power grid, though it would be better to have static power pods with batteries distributed in neighbourhoods.

stoy,

I make one new years resolution every year, to not make any other new years resolutions.

So far it is going great!

stoy,

I have never had a social media account under my real name, apart from Linkedin, which is just there to show me for possible employers.

When I google myself, I only get results about my address and my Linkedin profile, so I do atleast exist.

As for advice about joning something like Facebook…

  1. Stay away from politics.
  2. Don’t just “like” random stuff, be selective and only “like” stuff you really enjoy.
  3. Do not engage with dickheads, people will be mean to you, block them and move on, don’t engage, you can just leave.
  4. Stay away from politics.
  5. Never post photos of your kids/family without explicit, preferably written, consent.
  6. Be open to take down any photo of a person if said person asks you to.
  7. Stay away from politics.
  8. Avoid posting content about vacations before and during them, bruglers have been known to use that info to know when a house probably is empty.
  9. If you are a woman, please be extra careful posting images of your face online, people have and will continue to take faces of women in particular and photoshop them into porn, it is sad, but is a reality.
  10. Be mentally prepared for a lot of hate, whatever you post, you will sooner or later annoy someone online, or even just come to attention of certain people, and they will swnd you hate filled messges, block them and don’t engage.
  11. Stay away from politics.
stoy,

Swede here, this looks just like a normal squirrel we have here

stoy,

You can use Task Scheduler in windows to run a command to run VLC at a specific time

stoy,

A monarch understanding that they work for the people, and represent the people.

The same goes for any nation’s leader, monarch or not.

stoy,

I agree, and for the most part C Gurra hasn’t really been this kind of figure for us In Sweden, but in the last few years he has made a speech to the nation at christmas, which I feel have started to bring the out the unifying figure we need.
