Have to chime in because I had the exact same thoughts as you. It really sounds like someone dialing you drunk af/high af at 3 AM ready to make a huge ass pizza but they can’t figure this basic ass shit out.

How do you mean that? I’ve been using X11 for like 17 years. i3 uses X11, and I will most likely not use another WM if I can help it. It’s perfect for me. X11 is available in the core repositories of all the big distros.
I mean, I have no qualms with this, unless there are bugs and stuff waiting to be resolved. But I’ve not run into anything at all. Actually, there is one bug I’m experiencing. Ads will not load. There is just an empty square where an ad would be. But… I’m calling that a feature.
I’d rather click a button that installed everything to the right place than relying on myself to drag a single thing to a specific folder. Opening a folder first and having to drag is… a drag. That’s my opinion.

This is why I turn on the audio normalization on my TV. It makes the explosions sound super weird but it’s impossible to watch movies with kids sleeping otherwise. The mixing is so bad.
Have another go at this train of thought, mate… You’re basically saying “MM/DD” is better at sorting chronologically than “DD/MM”, since the year part is taken out of the equation, which is already the established consensus, and not ironical whatsoever. And the ISO standard is already to use YYYY-MM-DD, so that’s the winner IMO, hands down. Japan is simply following that but using a slash as the delimiter.
