The article doesn’t tell the dogs names.

Dogs are everything

This sounds much more adorable than the parents probably want it to sound.

RaivoKulli,

I don’t understand, what would the parents want it to sound instead?

theragu40,

I assume terrifying, so people understand what they went through. Although it’s not like they wrote the headline.

I get nervous when my kids don’t answer me after a few seconds when I call their name at a playground when I can’t see them. I cannot imagine how horrible it would be having one of them be actually missing for hours.

RaivoKulli,

Ah, gotcha

Who’s a good boy/girl??

AttackPanda,

Those dogs better have gotten steak for dinner the next night.

SgtAStrawberry,

Honestly I feel that a lot more when reading this community than I feel uplifting. Hope it gets better.

Or we could provide therapy to our citizens at an early age to help build them into stronger people. But ya know helping people is probably to much to ask for

I hope this expands to more states. I have Tinnitus and they still don’t know why. Though I have heard great things on how this helps lower and or removes it fully for months at a time.

Good news, there are a few other states (or just cities) that have decriminalized use/possession where you can find dispensaries.

Offering guided trips/treatment is a good thing, but the article says it costs $2K for a session… not great.

Toyoguru,

Meanwhile you can grow multiple OZ’s for 200$

grabyourmotherskeys,

That’s the minimum I’d require to spend 8-10 hours with a bunch of people on mushrooms who thought I was some kind of tripping expert.

Solid point :-) They did mention that one provider only sees a single patient per week. The emotional toll for that provider has got to be huge.

grabyourmotherskeys,

You could luck out and really enjoy an epic winter keg party in the Rockies with a bunch of coyotes on the other side of the gorge howling at the full moon. Or whatever.

God the way this article is written piss me the fuck off. They are trying really hard to spin it as people just wanting to get high. Burying the fact that this is a life critical drug for many. Mainstream media can fuck off

synae,
@synae@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

I’m happy for it to be available to those that can benefit from it as you mention, but also I just want to get high and when it comes to psilocybin I don’t see what’s wrong with that. Hoping California follows this path!

SquishyPandaDev,
@SquishyPandaDev@yiffit.net avatar

I too have absolutely nothing against people wanting to get high off it. My problem is with article trying to manipulate the reader’s opinion by putting emphasis on the recreational use.

Oh yea I understand your point better, and it’s a good one.

how much does the average tree sapling cost? do tree saplings that mature faster act as better carbon sinks than slower maturing trees?

Mobiuthuselah,

I don’t know about carbon sinks, but compound-leaved trees tend to grow faster and produce dense wood.

GardenVarietyAnxiety, to upliftingnews in [US] Feds spread $1 billion for tree plantings among US cities to reduce extreme heat and benefit health

In 2021, the QT gas stations around my city literally cut down every tree on the property so the transients wouldn’t have shade.

I don’t know why I felt the need to mention this.

Because this is the vibe in the US. Only non-solutions are allowed. Don’t get down or you will be kicked. No get up, only kick.

Because it shows how not solving one problem (high cost housing and the resulting homelessness) results in more problems (trees getting cut down to make it someone else's problem)

Please plant seed-bearing trees my allergies are already trying to kill me. The policy of planting only pollen-producing trees has made pollen so bad that it is now a part of the weather forecast!
