Do you actually feel it? I don’t feel it at all. Just at some point I am like “oh fuck, I didn’t listen to what they were saying”. And I cannot even remember what I was thinking
I catch myself sometimes half way through someone talking about something where I was fully paying attention for the first bit of them talking and then tuning back in for the end realizing “oh fuck” but it’s the same. My mind just wanders idk even know to what. There are times though where someone asks me a follow up question and I realize I wasn’t paying attention at all beyond the start of them talking.
Also sex is fun but not some revelatory experience(but what do I know, Im just a lesbian, a group which famously has many more orgasms than average), eo not base your self esteem on having it or not having it.
It also isn’t a substitute for intimacy, which when I talk to people who are weird about not having sex, I see them conflate needing a hug or to express their feelings with having sex.
Jokes aside, it’s all about confidence. If anything, fake it 'till you make it. I was terrible with girls for a long time until I stopped caring and just went for it. Then I was amazed how easy it was.
They birthed and normalized shitty internet behavior: rickrolling on the lighter end, trolling, doxxing, and swatting.
They would also do shit like make fun of mentally handicapped people, which would lead goons to harassing the victims IRL and teaching kids that this was all OK.
And they would go after people who talked shit about about them, criticized them, or otherwise attacked them. The 4chan army would come out in force and try to ruin people's online existence.
Before Q-Anon showed up, they had started calling Trump God Emperor during the election. I think they may just have chose him as the candidate who would cause the most chaos, but it's easy to see how others others would take their goals more seriously and want Trump as president.
And the cycles of shitty behavior over decades attracted more and more rightwingers. I used to think of them as a chaos collective, but the politics swung hard right.
And then they spread to other platforms with r/the_donald, pepe the frog, and calling each other pedes.
Fun fact: some people have a nature fetish and will dig holes in the ground or bore holes in trees so they can literally fuck the earth. I’m not judging, but now you have to share the burden of this knowledge.
I remember standing in line at a liquor store, watching a (likely) homeless woman carefully pocket some food item. I said nothing. I talked about it the next day at work. A coworker suggested I’d just passed an “ethics test.”
That was many years ago, before I’d established my current worldview. Today, I’d be silently rooting for them. “Get some food!”
It's a meme. This image shows a lemmy user asking a highly technical question and a caption saying that that is the least technical user, implying that all other lemmy users are even more technical.
To be fair, when people in the US think of a “pretzel”, those are the ones they think of. You can buy big bags of those in any supermarket. If you want to get a big, bready pretzel, you have to go to a restaurant.
It always bothers me in a similar way that she always says something like she realy has interesst in the man but her body language says the complete opposite.
You live in a place designed around cars, that’s the problem. Society worked fine without cars for a good long while. We could have adopted trains, bikes, and buses without the car and things would be going swimmingly. The idea is to fix our bad town planning so that it’s reasonable to get to any destination using any mode if transportation.
