why do threads that reference articles on outside sites redirect to kbin and not the outside site? (for example, worldnews often shows the external news site, but clicking the link takes you to a kbin.social post showing all the threads referencing that news site, not the actual site and story itself)
So I wanted to design a children's toy, where the electronics could last 100 years (ignoring mechanical abuse). I figured some people here might be interested....
Reddit admins appear to be removing links to Lemmy instances posted in comments.I'm seeing quite a few "[Removed by Reddit]" comments in /r/RedditAlternatives this evening. Anybody else seeing their comments being manipulated by Reddit staff today?
@Chozo Huffman is really taking all the cues from his hero Musk. Halving the valuation, alienating loyal developers and a core set of users and stifling freedom of information on the internet.
Not sure how I feel about this tbh, fair play if that’s what he wants to do. I don’t think it will make me stay with reddit. The community feel of lemmy and kbin is making me finally enjoy contributing again. Towards the end with reddit it felt so… Pointless.
