So basically trade in half of your childhood to have a better time for most of the rest of your life (yeah work may suck, but with better education you can more easily find something you don’t hate)
This is not a famous thing, it’s just that I’ve heard someone at a past workplace say this.
“Doing the same thing that got you here into this position will not make you successful in it, it may not even be enough for you to keep it.”
To be clear, he wasn’t saying it to me or anyone, he said it to himself as a life lesson he learned going through promotions and changing companies. The point was to stay humble and don’t expect your past accomplishments to get you through future challenges.
That title needs a lot of editing. It does end in a question mark, but it’s structured like a statement. Even if it is a question, it appears that your asking if it seems that way way to you. How is anyone else supposed to know how it seems to you?
Information about the topic for the country I live is scarce, searching in english for more results would not help. Queries in portuguese just return the obvious “yes, there is a risk”, and of course the egg brand won’t say anything about it other than “there’s a risk” otherwise they would get sued if someone got sick. That’s why I’m asking on Lemmy, to get opinion from real people othen than the obvious stuff.
Always over ear headphones I don’t get on with earbuds etc they hurt my ears and I think music is something that shouldn’t be imposed on others so headphones it is
It takes some time to build a routine, getting to that point requires effort. Once you’re comfortable and know your limits I personally get a lot of satisfaction from pushing my body to get faster, stronger, more agile and so on. You might feel exhausted but you know you can keep going and your body will respond.
Together with all other health benefits you get from it makes you feel good about yourself after a workout which translates to better confidence, mood and more.
I’ve tried for years to go to the gym regularly. I despise going to the gym. Putting on workout clothes, mindlessly trudging on a treadmill or whatnot before slogging through a bunch of machines then shower and going home. I loathe the idea of sacrificing 1+ hour of my precious free time just to feel miserable and accomplishing fuck all… Everyone claiming “just stick with it and you’ll start to enjoy it” lies. There’s no other way to say this. Lies. If you love it, good for you, but it definitely isn’t a universal thing.
Walks around town I do kinda enjoy but not enough to make me want to do it. But point me someplace new or nice to hike and I’m off to the races. I love being out in nature, taking in the sights and I don’t care whatsoever if I need to work for it.
The last few weeks I’ve also started to go swimming with my girlfriend. I’ve not been a fan of swimming as a child and basically never did it anymore since then. So I’m pathetic at it but to my huge surprise I do quite like it.
So my recommendation to you is: try loads of different things. Chances are you’ll like doing certain things way more than others. Ideally you’ll find something you love. Or at least you should be able to find something you don’t hate.
Second this. I bought some after watching Dankpods rate them as a cheap way to get into IEMs. I liked them so much that I bought the Bluetooth dongle attachments (AZ15) which were more expensive than the monitors themselves(!) to turn them into wireless earbuds and they’re great. The IEMs themselves provide a lot of natural sound isolation and aren’t overly bassy so you can enjoy all of the music while being able to hear the lyrics/lighter instruments.
The only thing I don’t like is that they look fairly ridiculous to wear out and about. I have a conventional pair of Redmi Bud 3 for going places which are a lot more discreet, but don’t sound half as good!

Being careful of CP is a danger you take in most sites, especially the ones that don’t have a lot of users. I’ve stumbled on jailbait instances here… it’s fucking everywhere.
I’ve been on curated internet too long. Randomly stumbling into CP wasn’t something I expected to see outside of the dark web since the main Internet got so tame during the late 2000’s through the 2010’s.
The main internet didn’t get tame, they just got better at hiding it. But that’s the point. There’s more cp on the clear web than dark web because the clear web is much much larger than the dark web, and the dark web is more heavily tracked with a large FBI presence.
Reddit had and still has issues with CP, weird threads with numbers and hash codes? Very likely some kind of downloading ring. There’s still “sink” threads on places like 4chan where a user posts an innocuous image, but upon closer inspection a single image file is way larger than it should be, meaning they injected the file with more files, by exploiting the metadata to turn an image file into essentially a zip folder. Isis used to use that method to recruit new members on twitter, out in the open they’d post a picture of some isis soldiers and if you extracted the files within the image you got recruitment docs and instructions on how to leave your country and fight with isis.
This, except for the part about cars. :) I get to see all over my town and the area at large first hand, breathe fresh air and get a workout. Cycling rules!
I love riding my bike. Any kind of bike. Road, mountain, cruiser. Going hard, going easy, uphill, downhill, it’s all fun as fuck.
I like running when I’m not super fat like I am right now. There’s something great about running a faster pace for the last half of a race and feeling stronger at the end than the beginning. When I’m fat here’s nothing worse than running a quarter mile and having everything hurt and being exhausted.
Lifting weights is ok, but nothing I look forward to.
