Very sensitive smell so i can tell somethings burning or notice dangerous smells much quicker then everyone else tho it feels more like a curse cause a lot of smells are overwhelming and makes me sick.
Only when I’m googling something that points to reddit. But even then not really as I’m using an extension that redirects all reddit links to their webarchive version.
The house I grew up in had a big backyard and I remember one night when I was like 10 years old I had a nightmare that a shadow person ran all the way from the back of the property to my house then presumably into it in less than 10 seconds.
Was the scariest thing Ive ever witnessed because when I woke up it was still night and I believed it actually happened and someone/something got inside.
I have no idea why I remember this. Its literally my second memory in life and it happened before I was put in foster home, so I can’t have been older than 5 most likely 4.
I was in my grandmother’s living room. And on a table I see a candle. But instead of a flame on top theres a tiny wax figure of some fruit. Curious I decide to touch it, but when I do it falls over, and the living room starts burning! And theres where I woke up, I think.
I got a feeling this was more than just a dream. Regret I wasn’t able to confirm that before my biological grandmother and mother died. I had time but I never did ask.
I got a few other non-dream memories from back then too. Three of those I’ve confirmed later that was true. So I know its possible to form permanent memories at that age.
Yeah, some of my most vivid and detailed memories are from when I was 4. It’s interesting to see that there’s such variance in when peoples brains seem to start recording memories
Sad part of the design is that I need to interact with a post to get it off my feed so if it’s an some stupid meme or whatever i just downvote and move on to clear up all the repeats.
The setting is off by default but you turn on hide post after interaction in the settings.
I think they are talking about the features of the software. On Windows, both AMD & NVIDIA has a program suite that can do a lot of things that are much more convenient than installing multiple programs and trying to configure them all.

I am running the RX6500XT graphics card, which if you try to use in a plug and play fashion, you’re completely out of luck when it comes to running any mildly new game out there in ultra or high settings.
However, the AMD Adrenaline software allows you to mess up with upscaling and many, many other goodies for you to fine tune performance and reach that ultra or high quality in (pretty much) all the games I usually play.
There’s no way I’m playing with low settings on Linux when AMD developed some amazing tools for people that like hacking around with their cards. It’s just a pity they still work only on Windows.
Edit: in my experience, ROCm didn’t work in my particular card. Moreover, in order to try an installation of those drivers I was forced to use distros I’m not familiar with like Ubuntu. I had to ssh to my university labs for any ML task.
Thanks for sharing. I have an RX 6800 and Ubuntu 23.04
To be honest the only thing I’m missing from the Control Panel (a thing that I always enable in all games) is “RIS” (Radeon Image Sharpening).
Control+Shift+O: I replaced it by running "Mangohud"
Radeon Chill (to cap FPS a bit below my max refresh rate, example 141 fps limit): I replaced it with "Mangohud"
FreeSync: Well I just have to enable it and run Gnome in Xorg on the logon screen… (instead of Ubuntu wayland).
Overclock: I’m not doing in Linux because I don’t run super heavy AAA like Warzone 2.0. But I have tried CoreCtrl and seems to work. (After enabling OC flag for amd).
Quick monitoring outside games: “Mission Center” I just installed and it’s very similar to W11 task manager in terms of monitoring.
ROCM: it was a pain in the ass to install. I installed some package that enables opencl / rocm while leaving the linux AMDGPU driver. But then it was still not working, and spend days until I finally discovered that I had to add my user to some groups “render” and “video”, something like that. Now I’ve been using it with CUDA apps like SDXL (in python) and it’s working like a charm.
That being said. My main os is W11. If I’m playing a game where my PC is overkill, I stay on Ubuntu (example Monster Hunter Rise or Elden Ring). If I’m playing a game where I need more fps, I go to windows 11 because there is still some % drop by using Proton/Wine etc. Sometimes 20% sometimes 10%. depends. Basically, If the game gives me < 100 FPS in Windows. I stay on Windows.
I had this dream for many months and possibly years on end and recurred sporadically for years after. I was on the inside of a semi-transparent moon like object looking out and everything was kind of blurry.
This dream was consistently across each dream state, I guess it was some kind of memory of being in the womb as it had always had that home kind of feeling. I had this dream from as early as I can remember up until around 6 or 7 years old.
I've just blocked them, myself. This keeps them out of /all searches for me. Most of them, I don't even understand, anyway. This shit makes me feel old, lmao
Almost every subreddits to specific games that I play (Celeste, Hollow Knight, etc), either has no federative alternatives or is still far more active on Reddit. Like 95% of contents I watch does not exist anywhere else.
Same and it’s worse when you find one and you end up being the only person to post in it and you feel it’s too specific to post in the popular gaming communities.
My dad said this offhanded joking remark to me 30 years ago and it lives rent free in my head. It’s a privileged view point for sure but I took it to mean save and be prepared but don’t be frugal toa detriment. Spend on things you love and spend away on things you hate. Don’t waste time if you can afford not to.
