I haven’t been back on Reddit since shortly before July 1. I enjoy the vibe here right and the novelty of something new hasn’t worn off yet.

Some subreddits I was more into like Destiny 2’s and Diablo 4 don’t seem as busy here so I have a feeling I may need to lurk over there still from time to time.

Haven’t been there since the blackout, don’t miss it. I’ve always gone there with desktop browser running uBO so I never did see adds there except for inline stuff once in a while. That’s one nice thing about Lemmy, looks exactly the same whether the blocker is on or off.

Same here. I’m not actively browsing or looking for information from Reddit, but if it’s unavoidable, then so be it. I can’t ignore the wealth of information still there.

hoodlem, in What are some ways Lemmy could be destabilized?
  • Pay to run news stories on fringe Lemmy instances (which everyone has defederated) that offer illegal or borderline illegal content. Equate the fringe instances with Lemmy itself.
  • Find vulnerabilities and wait to use them until opportune times.

Elder Scrolls Online, by far

GeekFTW, in In which game did you spend the most hours?
@GeekFTW@kbin.social avatar

1056h in Team Fortress 2, which is the highest I can verify at least. I'm sure I've put more time in Sims 4 over the decade but with multiple installs of pirated copies I have no way to verify that lol

I’m surprised I had to scroll down this far to see someone else mention TF2. I clock in at around 2019 hours, although probably around 500-600 of those are from idling (remember idling?!)

Last time I played was in 2019, and last time I played before that was also a couple of years. But for a while, Team Fortress 2 was my life. I eventually got into surfing, and poured SO many hours into that across TF2 and later CS:S.

If anyone who used to frequent Omega Arcade’s surf server on TF2 ends up reading this, Mr. Asplundh says hi! ☺️

cwagner, in In which game did you spend the most hours?

Civ V: 2,444.5 hours, never played multiplayer, all but maybe 300h with communitas/vox populi

Runner up is Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous with almost 2000 hours

CalamariSafari, in In which game did you spend the most hours?

Team Fortress 2. About 3000 hours and I haven’t played it in years, I was addicted.

elkaki, (edited ) in In which game did you spend the most hours?

Kind of difficult since aside steam I have no clue on how many hours I have spent, especially for console games.

That aside, my most played game in steam are:

  • melvor idle with 1500 hours (it’s an idle to be fair, kind of runescape but it’s only a UI, you leave it open farming)
  • factorio at 700 hours (the entirety of the factory building genre is pure crack)
  • risk of rain 2 at 400 hours (it’s the perfect sequel and a damn fun roguelike where you stack items until your pc breaks)
hungry_freaks_daddy, in In which game did you spend the most hours?

Easily Rocket League. I think I’m somewhere around 2,000 hours at the moment.

gkd, in do you have multiple lemmy accounts in different instances. why?
@gkd@lemmy.ml avatar

I have a separate account now for meme communities. I enjoy memes, but gotta be a way to filter them out better without blocking the communities.

Yea you can filter by subscribed but then you also miss new content or communities you don’t know about yet.

fearout, in Anyone else missing posts in smaller Lemmy communities because they are overshadowed by the popular ones?
@fearout@kbin.social avatar

With you on this. I don’t like current Lemmy/kbin sorting methods. Most of my subscribed feed is filled with like 5 top communities, but I’m actually interested in those so I don’t want to block them.

It would be great if posts from smaller communities were injected into the feed even if they don’t really meet the “hot” requirements.

Lily33,

For me at least, that's true on lemmy, but not so much on kbin - my feed there is seems to include smaller communities too.

fearout,
@fearout@kbin.social avatar

I’m on kbin myself, and tech/news/similar communities seem to dominate the feed. Do you have similar large ones in your feed?

Lily33,

Kind of - but a lot of my communities just don't get more than one post per day, so that limits the diversity a lot.

deweydecibel, in Be honest, do you still use reddit?

A bit. Not much, but a bit.

Lemmy is still missing some things I enjoyed from Reddit, things I can’t just snap my fingers and create here by typing a name into the “create community” page.

I’m not bothered by it. The transition will happen in time. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Etc.

We should open an issue

birdcat, (edited ) in What's your real-life superpower?
@birdcat@lemmy.ml avatar

I can sense years if not decades before anyone else which celebrities are creeps, rapists, rscist or asshole.

Bill Cosby

R. Kelly

Marilyn Manson

Morgan Freeman

Chris Brown

Woody Allen (no wait that’s too easy)

Allan Baldwin

Johnny Depp

Thre guy from Ramstein

The what’s his name since guy

Elon Musk

And so on. I hated them all since forever and knew somthing is not quite right with them.

The only cases I was shocked was James Franco and Kevin spacey.

MooToYou,

Morgan Freeman? Am I missing something?

Choco1ateCh1p,

It’s somewhat well know that he is very abrasive in public with fans that solicit him. I believe that is what is being referred to in this context. I am unaware of any additional “ass-hole-afications” he possesses though.

mido_ml,

Do you have any future bets?

birdcat,
@birdcat@lemmy.ml avatar

Yea. Chris Pratt is one day going to beat/abuse his wife.
