Jourei, in How do you enjoy listening to digital content? Speakers? Headphones? Earbuds?

When I want high quality and am not really on the go, I have Drop panda headphones and some Sony earbuds for when I am on the go.

gargantuanprism, in What genres of music do Lemmites enjoy?

Gridlink just dropped a new track and I was reminded of what a banger Longhena was

Galaxy Buds Pro on my commute, Plantronics Voyager 8200 when I’m at my desk (or travelling on the plane).

For TV/games I’ve got a 5.1 sound system, but I will often just chill on my bed watching things from my laptop or playing on my Steam Deck with the built-in speakers.

mrecom,

Do you have an EQ preset you like for the Voyager? I feel like music sounds bad on my set.

TheHalc,

Not really, but are you using your computer’s Bluetooth or the provided dongle, and do you have any apps keeping your mic open? If you use standard Bluetooth on Windows it sometimes gets stuck in duplex mode (the mode for conversations rather than consuming content), and music sounds awful.

They’re good enough for music, but they’re more optimised for online meetings. You’re not going to get a hi-fi experience from them.

mrecom,

Thanks for the response. I think that was the issue I was experiencing. Have you seen the new Voyager Surround 80?

TheHalc,

Not yet, but it looks nice. After replacing the foam cups on my headset I think I still have a year or two left in these.

I’d be happy to evaluate them if Poly sent me a sample, though!

I’m a real big fan of grunge. All my discovery feeds are based off nothing but 90’s grunge.

Tom_bishop, in What's the point of buying new phones every years?

I follow my life rule of changing phone every 5 years. But my phone broke and become unusable after 4 years. Was xiaomi user for yrs, i bought s23 ultra now as xiaomi prices became expansive. Buy good phone mainly for the picture quality.

Also have a S23 Ultra because my old one died, the picture quality is incredible. I know i’ll keep this phone for at least 5 years too

Lucidlethargy, in What is the best anonymous image hosting site?

Pixelfed seems decent!

PartialPenguin, in Does anyone actually enjoy working out?

I lift weights a few days in the week and it’s just routine now. I don’t find working out to be fun, but seeing friends at the gym and and chatting is fun.

I don’t understand it either. The only reason I upgraded from my Galaxy S10 was because the USB port no longer worked. I could still charge it via wireless charging, but it was annoying not being able to plug it into my car to use Google Maps. If the USB port didn’t break, I’d probably still be using the old S10.

neko, in For those that are, how are you keeping track of tropical weather this year?

If you're on Android and already know how to interpret raw radar maps, wX

I heard ‘Congregation’ in the show Devs (loved it), and was surprised I never listened to them before. Went back and listened to the whole catalog… several times over. It’s the best airplane music.

yoz, in I'm being harassed by mosquitoes, how do i kill them all?

Have you considered killing yourself ?

Dinodicchellathicc,

Are you from my other post lol?

Steinsprut, in How do you enjoy listening to digital content? Speakers? Headphones? Earbuds?

Either DT990s or cheap Edifier “studio monitors” connected to my audio interface when at home, or M50XBT outside

awwsom, in How do you enjoy listening to digital content? Speakers? Headphones? Earbuds?

I hate in ear headphones so I mostly use Over ear headphones and mostly wired if no travel is involved.

Xiphorang, in What genres of music do Lemmites enjoy?

Most flavours of metal, hard rock, punk, some blues stuff like SRV and Gary Moore. Basically, if it has loud guitars in it, I'm there.

Eccitaze, in What's it like working night shift?
@Eccitaze@yiffit.net avatar

I worked graveyard shifts at a gas station for a year or two. My general experience beyond what other people have said–good commute, fucking with your social life, taking its toll on your body, all that–is that working graveyard shifts is lonely. I cannot understate how lonely it got; there were stretches of multiple hours where there were no customers at all, and it was just me and the long list of nightly chores I had to do (mopping floors, prepping food for breakfast rush, restocking shelves, etc., etc.). Not having any human contact at all fucks with your head something fierce, especially when you mix in sleep deprivation and your body rebelling against the normal sleep rhythm into the mix.

My advise is that if you’re going to be working night shift all alone, get into podcasts. Having a radio that I could use to listen to NPR was the main thing that kept me sane, because I could at least have a human voice to listen to and keep my mind somewhat engaged.
