I’ve been eating this as breakfast as well for probably over a year now. Can’t say that I’ve been enjoying them because the taste is pretty bland, but they sure are healthy and help a lot with digestion.
I make them super bland though, just rolled oats with double their weight in milk.
Before I added some maple syrup to give it some flavour, but then I tried to reduce calories in my meals and this kind of stuck.
I have a pattern which really works for me where I wake up, brush my night guard and brush my teeth with no toothpaste and then eat breakfast. That way I don’t have the horrible mint toothpaste / orange juice clash I’m sure many of you are familiar with.
Then at night I floss and brush with toothpaste, and put in the night guard.
I used to make myself floss only every other day (like if I didn’t floss last night I MUST floss tonight), which I highly recommend rather than sporadic or no flossing. But I recently upped my game to “every night except special occasions”.
The leftists have become a corpo/billionaires shills since occupy wall street happened.
Since 2012 the left ceased to exist in the mainstream. Class issues that the left raised before the takeover ware replaced by identity politics. Labels were introduced and Massed Formation Psychosis was initiated. All dissidents of even a slightly different opinion were attacked/cancelled en masse. Freedom of speech, religion, was now seen as archaic, nuclear families were seen as dangerous, racism and segregation were accepted ect.
Psychosis reached it’s peak in 2020 when people had more time to reflect on their views in their time of isolation from coronavirus and subsequently more and more people were coming to their senses.
The scales are starting to swing back but in my opinion due to the sheer momentum of people waking up this will have catastrophic consequences for the western civilization.
Currently still there are no sensible/uncompromised leftist movements left and the only alternatives are on the right. And, like I said above, this will have catastrophic consequences.
Not really. I stopped using Reddit and even though I am using lemmy it so far hasn’t been a true replacement. Overall my engagement has gone down hill significantly. I might check lemmy once or twice a day. I used to be on Reddit all day. Ultimately this is better for me overall. Even if I wanted to there just isn’t enough content for lemmy to be a replacement for my Reddit usage.
Welcome to the club of lactose intolerance! If, like me, you really like dairy, there is a very easy way to cheat the system… (Seriously, how would anyone survive without cheese?)
You can get lactase tablets. Those are little pills full of lactase, which is the protein that breaks down lactose into digestible simple sugars. All you have to do is take a lactase tablet when you eat anything with lactose, and you can continue to live your life like before.
Lactose intolerance is not black and white either. You may have some tolerance left, which may be enough to eat your cereal with milk, if that is the inly lactose you have during the day. Your tolerance can also fluctuate over time. For example, the first time I had an issue with lactose it only lasted a few weeks.
I always have tablets with me! Every time I’m eating out and am not 100% sure that the food is vegan, I take a table just to be sure. I can imagine that cooks slip in butter or cream to improve the taste.
I can have a bit of milk. But I have it with coffee, and any more than that gives me gas. I’ll talk to my doctor about lactase pills, thank you for letting me know.
My pleasure! And unless the rules are different where you live, you don’t need to see a doctor or get a prescription. Here (Belgium) you can easily get them from pharmacies or online.
I wouldn’t rely too much on lemmy for news and politics tbh, because posts can sway on way or another or even not get traction because most people don’t agree with it. Instead I think it’s better something like a RSS feed where you can pick your sources, or maybe just check a couple of less biased news outlets, so you can somehow have a more broad overview of what’s going from different perspectives.
For international politics I watch and read news sources from India, they are somewhat biased against Pakistan (thou, I believe, even there are truthful) and for everything else looks quite neutral.
I don’t think there is any reliable source for US politics, too much interests are in play and even if someone is truthful and reliable I don’t know how to assess that. But I do take a look at Democracy Now since they don’t sound sensationalistic.
I learned on Reddit not to trust any world news or political news posts. I was tricked a couple of times by fake posts. I still browse the posts, but I take everything I read with a grain of salt.
You have a few options, one is sharpkeys as people mentioned, alternatively there’s also the microsoft keyboard layout creator that lets you make a custom keyboard layout where the two are swapped.
If you only want to activate it temporarily, you could also use autohotkey to define a hotkey that makes you type a colon instead of a semicolon and vice versa until you switch it off.
