I liked the hazbin hotel pilot, but very much felt how you do about the helluva boss pilot. I thought hazbin was fun and quirky and I liked it a fair bit, helluva boss cranked up the edginess and immaturity but didn’t bring anything else that made up for it. Maybe the actual series is better Idk
Much less clever and subtle. I would call that a pretty low bar, honestly. Helluva Boss also has a lot of poorly-written content IMO, but in Hazbin it’s nonstop bad writing until there’s a small glimpse of something competent. I would recommend Helluva Boss to anyone who likes shitposts and sitcoms, but I wouldn’t recommend Hazbin to anyone right now.
When they want to whine and moan about how confusing technology is/has gotten and how much they hate it instead of just explaining the difficulty and what they might have tried to resolve it?
Yeah wish I got paid like a therapist for those. They’d get real succinct real fast lol.
I told people I love helping people but many of my “clients” wanted to score immediate points by coming to the “computer guy” to rant about how they hate technology for the next hour.
Imagine how that would go over at other professions. “This thing you work on and would be willing to explain if I’d listen for a second? I hate it. Let me tell you why. Please help when I’m finally out of breath thanks.”
I’m sure the vet or a plumber would love this. Your mechanic especially. /s
“Please watch this advertising video that is relevant to what you were discussing with your wife in the other room this morning before your browser can be launched.”
I just ignore them because the videos are a mess of graphics and popups outside the app. It has literally made some videos unwatchable for me as they kept getting interrupted and breaking.
It’s the worst mobile website I’ve ever seen, which is impressive considering Facebook and Reddit have been intentionally breaking their mobile websites for years now.
Literally everyone that is WFH is employed by a tech giant with a high 6 figure salary intended for San Fran market standards, but choosing to live in a shack out in the boonies pocketing the difference. This is definitely stable, viable and repeatable for everyone in America. Go make bank y’all.
Edit: Geez, do I need the /s? Most companies caught onto this shit like 6 months into the pandemic and do cost-of-living salary adjustments for WFH now. Damn near no one is “making bank by moving” any more.
Shit, here I am in the plains states with a WFH job for a firm the next state over, seriously considering moving my family to a more expensive state with less shitty politics. (Or Europe, depending on where I could get a digital nomad visa.) I’ve got some real concerns about what happens after the elections and I don’t feel particularly comfortable being here, with the way that my family looks and my politics are.
I’ve drunkenly managed to turn on it reading out my key presses and some other weird accessibility setting. For the life of me couldn’t turn it off, we had three people all super drunk trying to figure out how to stop my phone from yelling numbers and letters. It was fun until I managed to get my phone locked with too many failed attempts.
I’ve actually played around in the settings after someone pointed out the magnifier that’s hidden in there, which has been a blessing for reading those evil sites that use code to disable the “force pinch to zoom” accessibility feature in my browser. (I have impaired vision.) There are definitely some settings in accessibility that are way beyond my needs though lol
