Cerumen is a good thing if it’s not causing complications. Lubricates the skin to stop drying, antimicrobial/anti fungal for certain things, helps maintain acidity.
Ear canal is like a conveyor belt and keeps carrying it out, a lot of the earwax is actually dead skin. For most people, being conservative and mostly cleaning the outer ear entrance is just fine.
It’s a problem if it’s blocking the ear, trapping water in the ear after showers, on the eardrum, affecting hearing aids etc.
Qtips suck for ears and often make things worse. Many times a day I see a wall of earwax blocking the ear with a qtip indent in it. I also see bruises from qtips in the canal all the time. Very rarely people that have shoved the qtip through the eardrums (very bad).
Not really mentioned in the picture but Qanats are basically underground aquaducts, bringing water from nearby mountains to the cities. They can be up to 70km long. We went into one when I visited Iran.
From the title here, I thought this happened in 2003, not that the article is from 2003. Good thing the page itself has a bright yellow text box. Just saying, you might have made this clearer. I also wouldn’t call this “mildly interesting”. I don’t know what it is but there’s nothing “mildly” about it. Fuck.

It’s extremely horrifying is what it is and the executives responsible for this decision should be put into prison. This is monstrous. Someone who’s comfortable with this decision does not belong in society. A monetary fine is not adequate, especially since the fines are usually less than the profit they earn through these types of actions. They just consider them business expenses.
That might be it. I was thinking it could the a spike in voltage that shorted the traces. But nothing else got damaged in the house, so it is less likely.
You people live in a fantasy world where physical threats do not exist. The US is leading the way protecting Asia and Europe. The entire balkins would be under RU is it wasn’t for that spending.
The spending it’s needed and it’s EU/Asia doesn’t step up it’s game they’ll ultimately be a second tier power to the United States perpetually. Their call I guess 🤷♂️.
I mean sadly you’re right - people like to hate on our defense spending in the US, but who does the world look towards when Russia invades Ukraine? It sucks that it needs to be this way, but if we don’t have a strong deterrent to other countries then we’re just asking for problems. Look at how aggressive China and Russia have gotten recently, with China inching closer to an invasion of Taiwan. Who’s going to be laughing when the US is there to help Taiwan?
We know more about geo politics in the region than you do. And your drastic oversimplification does not actually result in a reasonable and coherent plan for peace in the Asia pacific region. Again I’ll say, your presence and commentary in this case is misinformed and incorrect.
I’m not sure why your being downvoted, but it’s true. Allied countries of the U.S. do not have to put much towards their military budget do to being able to rely on the U.S.
The U.S. has a strong military presence in the Indo-pacific region and if they didn’t, surely some adversaries would have already been having their way.
It’s unfortunate it comes to this but that’s just the facts.
There's some incredibly impressive megalithic structures in India. Look up Ajanta and Ellora caves. I believe the Ellora temple is the largest monolithic structure ever created
the Ellora caves deserve to be their own post. Idiots think aliens mustve built it because theres no debris field… I’m pretty sure its more likely that pilgrims took home small pieces of carved rock for centuries.
The Indian region has historically has been pretty resilient to famines, the exception to that is during British rule there were several famines leading to the starvation and deaths of millions. The consensus seems to be that these famines were a result of British policy. I've never heard of this unsustainable growth and famine argument I'd love to read more if you can provide sources
