Dude, I had this exact conversation with our compliance team. They told me I couldn’t write literally anything client-side unless the user agreed. They also insisted that I always show the cookie banner if there wasn’t a cookie. Dumbest shit ever. Used the litany of user bug reports on day 1 to tell compliance to go fuck themselves.

Don’t sell them short; incel lifestyle is about so much more than (no) sex. I’d challenge you to find any incel posts that exhibit empathy or even a reasonable understanding of human interaction.

AstridWipenaugh, to asklemmy in I am to celebrate new years eve alone. How can I celebrate solo?

What do you do any other night you’re alone? Do that. NYE isn’t special.

AstridWipenaugh, to asklemmy in So is the US slipping into Civil War?

There was a very real economic driver for slavery. Totally morally bankrupt, but it’s a reason. This is pure malice for the sake of a culture war.

If jpg and png were good enough for dialup, they’re good enough for gigabit.

Who in tarnation is cooking an eggplant peach dish that’s splashing? I saw my daughter’s text messages and her boyfriend didn’t even bring any of this strange dish to share when he came over. Kids these days…

Years ago my dad was fed up with realtors and you couldn’t list a property for sale without a realtor license. So he figured it’s probably as easy as it seems, seeing how many airhead realtors he’d met. He was right. He read a book and then went and passed the exam to get licensed. Sold his own property himself and never used the license again.

Oh step brother! I’m so glad you’re home! I got stuck in the coffee maker… can you help me?

AstridWipenaugh, to memes in Everytime

I got physically attacked on the playground pretty much every day for years in elementary school. I feared my parents more than the attackers, so I took my lumps and never fought back. The teachers didn’t care. One day I had enough. Grabbed the kid punching me, threw him to the ground, and kicked him a couple dozen times. He had bruises on his arms, legs, and torso and probably a few bruised ribs. The principal told me that fighting is never ok, but she didn’t see it so couldn’t say if there was a fight or not and warned me against getting into any fights in the future because she’d probably see those… First time any staff stood up for me. No problem though, every one of those kids left me alone and never bothered me again.

Gas is no longer in prime condition after 3-6 months, but is still combustible for at least a year or two. Old gas will damage your engine over time though. Most of the degradation is due to oxidization, so if the gas were in sealed cans, maybe it could last longer.

But yeah, 5+ years in and most gas is unlikely to work in an engine. You’d have to be making some kind of bio-ethanol at that point.

AstridWipenaugh, to memes in Seriously spends $80 to drive 20km..

It costs like $30 to rent a box truck from home depot to take a big load home. I can get a few sheets of plywood on my Outback with a couple ratchet straps and not going over 40 lol.

We’re a global company making enterprise software. We have all the certifications including really nasty ones like FedRAMP and HIPAA combined. GDPR is a walk in the park comparatively. I’m well aware of the details and deal with compliance on a nearly daily basis. The only justification was “just to be safe”, which is why they quickly acquiesced to storing the string “false” after pushback.
