BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to linuxmemes in An unbiased comparison of linux distributions' setup

BSD users standing outside, face pressed against the glass, gently weeping.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in Have you ever come across some sort of container or organizer for anything that ended up being strangely useful?

I started using sort of odd shaped zipper bags (the kind that come with a piece of furniture or electronics) so instead of 100 little things bouncing around the drawer it’s more like a dozen small baggies.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in Have you ever come across some sort of container or organizer for anything that ended up being strangely useful?

Because of browser security I think TiddlyWiki has gotten a bit hard to use. 10 yrs ago I could write and update files without any security popups or cli flags or admin permissions.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in What is the deal with Palestine and Hamas?

Many of which are in politics.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to linux in Sell Me on Linux

Agree. Linux isn’t that hard but there is a bit of a learning curve and you shouldn’t gamble your business on your ability to pick up a brand new OS. If you can afford support or an “IT Guy” then take the plunge. For general clerical stuff there should be zero compatibility issues.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to piracy in How to RIP?

Been years since I ripped a disc but DVDFab is probably a good place to start. It still it exists, I just found out, and it looks like they have a streaming ripper too. It never failed me when I tried to rip a disc.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in What's an amusing thing to say before going under general anesthesia?

You can do what my 4yo did before his last surgery: shout out “WAIT WAIT WAIT!” right before they put on your mask or give you the drip, then hold out your fist and say, “FIST BUMP!”

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in Mother-in-Law bought family tickets to Medieval Times for tonight, but they're on strike and scabs are doing the show...

I think you have a good compromise of donating to their cause. Personally I wouldn’t have gone and had a talk with my kids about the importance of standing up for your beliefs (and sorry if you want to go anyway, you’re not old enough to drive). Even if the money’s been spent I wouldn’t go as it still hurts the moral of strikers and reinforces the scabs decision to cross the line.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in What's a button you hate tapping or clicking accidentally?

I’ve hit the spacebar in Baldurs Gate 3 during combat (ends the current turn) way too many times.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to upliftingnews in Denver experimented with giving people $1,000 a month. It reduced homelessness and increased full-time employment, a study found.

Or use them as a political demon to rally our base?
