Contend6248,

I do think it is piracy, for me piracy is taking what you want exactly how you want it and don’t ask for it, absolute freedom.

We small people don’t have the possibilities as the rich to save much money with tax tricks or anything similar, so this is how we’re compensating.

I rather have piracy seen more positively than distant certain areas from it. Just my opinion.

Contend6248,

My best guess would be that the internal player of Firefox comes to play here.

You can try opening any MP4 with Firefox

Contend6248,

There’s an app which can change a Reddit client so Reddit thinks you’re just another user with your own app.

They are just limiting you if you offer your unique ID to many other users, which essentially every app developer in any store does.

Contend6248,

It needs YouTube to fall first, no one has that kind of money to operate at such a loss for such a long time.

Platforms with a serious offering have no chance until that.

Contend6248,

I mean, it does have infinite less content, because it still lacks of the flood of DLCs, so it can’t be better in that not so unimportant regard.

It’s just not finished yet, and I have no problem waiting for a year or two, you don’t have to defend them.

Contend6248,

They are digital releases, it literally makes no sense at all. Stop preordering and make yourself a calendar entry if you have to.

Contend6248,

True, these companies do us patient gamers a solid one.

It’s been easy to transition to one when the releases are majorly hot garbage.

Contend6248,

Invidious

Contend6248,

If you don’t see the option in the settings, you might have to try another instance, it is a feature but instances can disable it for obvious reasons.

Contend6248,

Which place are you visiting where you get non-stop covid posts?

Contend6248,

True, but the communities are built around people not the platform. We are once again learning that no platform will be around forever, older people have seen it plenty of times already.

There needs to be a step by step migration guide

It was and still is hard - or at least tedious - for me as a software developer to find out how to use the fediverse and lemmy. I can’t imagine how annoying it must be for a normal user. The one thing I really liked about reddit, is that you can find a well written guide for everything, often pinned at the top of a specific...

Contend6248,

If i had to guess, one single platform is something people new to federation can easily understand. What happens behind the scenes is nothing the average user needs to know or should even notice. Time will change that understanding, this is just the beginning and there should not be a rush because that will scare people away.

Contend6248,

This ad is bad, but them being just masked as a normal post did grind my gears even more. Reading half way through the title until i figure that it’s just an ad is something i can’t accept.

Contend6248,

I would imagine that can lead to legal troubles endorsing r/piracy willingly?

Accepting it is one thing, but forcing it to open is entirely different.
