L5264. You know, just a while after the Mayonnaise Wars of K3737.

Was in the Marines and we did the same. No fun zone got to have fun got just a minute.

It was a crazy time. I was pretty big into EDM, and so when I was in the field with the Marines and my company decides they’re going to do a Harlem Shake video with 150 dudes, needless to say it felt a little surreal. It was rare we got to act like goofballs, but for like one minute on the shores of Morocco we got to be absolute morons. And then we didn’t.

Game shark, my god you brought me back. Shit, now you got me thinking about Game Genie too.

Every situation is different with these kids, for sure. I think the OP is a good one, because sometimes stewing in your own juices isn’t what you need, and all you need is a kid to say hey let’s build Legos. I’m tired all the time these days, we are worked to death, our kids demand constant attention, and while we absolutely all need time to ourselves, it’s also good to just buck up sometimes and build some Lego, at least for me it is, it brings me out of the funk. Sometimes I end up sitting there building nonsense after my kids have gotten bored.

I’m all about mental health and needing to figure your shit out yourself sometimes, but I also think sometimes you need a push to get the gears moving.

But yeah, if they come and say I’m bored, and I need a minute, you’re gonna have to figure your shit out. But if you have a project and some focus, maybe I need a little focus as well, just a distraction with purpose.

I remember trying to plug them in and feeling like I’m screwing it in, and letting pressure off and it just flops out. Break time.

“All I have in this world is my balls and my word.”

That’s as close to relevant as I can get.

It’s funny, I joined the Marines, infantry, and came out much, much more progressive.

Plus one to psychedelics. They helped me explore myself and my relationship with others. Let me lower the walls, empathize. Been a while since the first time, may have gone a little hard in the paint with them at first, but now it’s one time a year just to remember everything.

My life is one lucky decision after another and I couldn’t be happier with where I ended up. Fucked off in high school but somehow got into college (jk, I know how I got in ($$)), dropped out, fucked around, went to school for my current field literally to buy time, fucked around but got out, fucked around at work and decided to join the service. Fucking around was frowned upon so I finally turned it around. Came out, got better at civilian job, lived with friends from the service for one year in a town that happened to be like 25 miles from where my future wife was just finishing school, and so our dating profile search rings matched up for all of a couple months.

Bought a house months after meeting my future wife and it was she either moves home and we go long distance or she sticks around and figures out a rooming situation with her then roommates. That was a decade ago, and two kids, and I live on a block with seven or eight other young families in a walkable neighborhood, my kids will walk to school when they’re older, ride their bikes around, we hang out and socialize regularly with neighbors. And it’s all because I fucked around in high school.

I’m an American and I throw cunt out often enough. I’m from Jersey though and we curse a bunch, and I also was in the Marines, where we cursed a lot. It’s where I picked up the phrase cunt hair, as in the unit of measurement.

Coherence came out in 2013, and the movie is phenomenal. Such an awesome take on the whole time theory.

+1 was another very good one, and more fun than mine bending, but does a great job tackling it.

I’m currently watching Dark, but enjoying it for sure.

More ad breaks for eventual streaming service distribution. Two hours? Only 4-5 ad breaks. An additional 20 minutes? Boom, let’s sell more prescription drugs, or candy, or whatever.

For real. Cemetery. Storm water culvert. That’s about it, outside of someone’s back yard, the cemetery and the storm water culvert. And I grew up in a fairly urban place. Not a city, but certainly not back country. Hop on bike, find somewhere without adults.

Common in New Jersey too. Were essentially Europe of America.

It’s funny but you see the same thing in sports, or I see it specifically in hockey. Phenom kid gets drafted and at 18 has the social skills of the hockey puck he’s playing with. By the time he’s 36 he’s not the player he once was but is a more well rounded individual with age and experience. When you focus all your energy to become the best at something, like a PhD, athlete, musician, whatever, you sacrifice some things along the way for sure.

What happens when a hyphen is used in a movie title? I think that’s frequent enough, versus an underscore or a period.

Dozzi92,
@Dozzi92@lemmy.world avatar

Gotta hit shift though. Period, ezpz.

Same. Original seasons I’ve seen many, many times. So densely packed with nonsense humor.

Season 4 (and probably 5, didn’t watch) felt contrived. The show had a great flow and the later seasons felt so forced.

But those first three were amazing.

Jeez, I remember sitting at my Apple II in computer class in 1992 or '93 and our teacher having this comic cut out and taped to the side of his computer. I’m pretty sure it’s older than that too, but it’s a testament to the quality comic Farside was, simple but memorable.

As a kid, anytime I’d fly with my mom (infrequent) I’d do “airplate,” and my mom would always say what the hell is an airplate, and I’d say a flying saucer.

I’ll jump in under your comment because it’s the same. Refuse to download Reddit app so my usage there is way down. Over 13 or 14 years I was fairly active. Here, I’m moderately so, but due mainly to my feed being probably proportionately inactive.

You got 100W bulbs and not 100W equivalent? That makes zero sense. I didn’t even know you could find 100W residential LEDs.

Grab some 7W, 2700k dimmable LEDs and call it a day.

Dozzi92,
@Dozzi92@lemmy.world avatar

That’s the one. A general story throughout but each episode essentially a standalone, and so many fantastic episodes (and sure, some not as). D&D needs to get put back on streaming, though.
