Fedizen,

crossbow, axe, dog, ak47

The crossbow can be used indefinitely for hunting, the axe can be used for nearly everything, the dog is useful for hunting and protection, the ak47 is an emergency tool. There’s going to be less zombies and gas in the wilderness. Why are binoculars, bicycles, and horses not on this list?

That’s even more fucked up tbh. The public shaming aspect sounds like it would fuck up people.

That’s the kind of behavior that can destroy communities, its surprising if this kind of garbage was tolerated on a public mailing list.

Fedizen,

Hard disagree. This letter is what happens when direct communications have failed.

Realistically, somebody near Linus probably told him to chill out and that he’s damaging his own reputation and his project’s by sending out this temper tantrum bullshit. In no world would the target of this letter be the person who successfully sits him down and lectures him on not being an asshole.

But honestly if he had a habit of sending out this kind of stuff it would be a liability/legal problem.

Fedizen,

Found the Karen.

Fedizen, (edited )

I think whoever recieved this would be completely fine to report Linus to HR or something. The fact somebody thought to circulate it is suggestive that it crossed a line. I do appreciate he does seem to really care about the kernel. He could maybe tone down the hysterics a little.

I think if there’s a lesson here its “Never hit send while you’re angry” always wait until your hormones to subside before sending an email because emails are records and people don’t have good judgement while angry, so an email sent in anger is just a record of your poor judgement.

Fedizen,

You mean the meth burnout lifestyle needs to stop?

Fedizen, (edited )

It wouldn’t be much different. Really what politicians need are more staff with science literacy and social literacy.

You see the failure of science in policing frequently where metrics get imposed that end up having bad results (there’s a fantastic reply all about comstat). You need people with social literacy who can make better appointments and navigate these situations.

We could use better science literacy among media: writers, news anchors, etc.

Fedizen,

What a fucking dumbass

Fedizen,

I mean that sounds like it could be filled with peanut butter.

Fedizen,

not just that but it saves human lives as well by reducing animal collisions.

Fedizen,

linux mint, its just a pitcher filled with whatever you do drink, dont ask me how it got in the pitcher

Fedizen, (edited )

there’s a number of inauthentic right wingers that happily pose as leftists online to spur these sorts of things, its not something you can stop by lecturing people in online spaces.

This is good in person advice but in most cases this is a mostly online issue where bad actors and children are over represented.

this needs a fourth panel where she’s tearfully putting the dad down at a doctor like a dying dog at a vet.

Leave Texas and other Draconian states and risk getting pulled over for driving pregnant? Nope, just have the pills mailed from California. (www.cbsnews.com)

California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a new law on Wednesday that aims to stop other states from prosecuting doctors and pharmacists who mail abortion pills to patients in places where the procedure is banned. California already has a law protecting doctors who provide abortions from out-of-state judgments.

Fedizen,

since when did these religious nutjobs want to “protect” anyone? Guns, and car accidents are major killers of kids, when I see some action there from these liars I’ll believe they’re just honest dumb people who think zygotes are people. Until then these crocodile christians can shove it.

Fedizen,

maybe I’m out of place here but having a bunch of vet techs modifying dna seems like a problem not unlike allowing car companies using public roads to test their self driving cars.
