I’m lucky to have had a great job going on seven years, but the decade prior to that I was in an awful place, but this meme speaks to me because I did just that. I had a boss who didn’t want to lose me, so he got my interview for an internal move (that would have been a promotion) pulled.
That’s a pretty monumentally shitty thing to do, so after that, I did the absolute bare minimum. It was a lot of fun when I put in my two weeks.
I miss the days when we fought war with theretofore unimaginable charity. I imagine if the Israelis dropped five billion dollars in aid over Gaza instead of five billion in bombs they’d probably be more likely to experience a positive outcome.
The major social media platforms are programmed to simultaneously outrage you and convince you that everything you think is correct, no matter how outlandish or stupid it is.
And it works. Keeps your eyes glued to stupid ads.
For my part, I lost hope in it all when my loving, wonderful preschool teacher started posting about how unfairly Trump was being treated.
I didn’t mind the small increase to 11.99, but the way they’re doing this just rubs me the wrong way.
They’re not only increasing the sub price, but tinkering with the display quality too AND laying people off… Netflix just doesn’t deserve my cash when I can access most of this content via other means.
I got rid of a bunch of subs at the beginning of the year, getting rid of NF too.
It was one of the few times I’ve nearly lost it in the office. And the manager who did it was shit at his job, hence why he had to go to such measures to keep people around.
Driving a monster truck on a tiny road will give you a lot of life experience about driving safely. It’s the same when you have to do a lot of parenting and have no other choice. I have more practical experience rearing children than most people on this thread, guaranteed.
