GrayBackgroundMusic,

I miss chill fermentation fridays.

GrayBackgroundMusic, (edited )

I miss gourmet makes. Claire Saffitz solving industrial food issues on a small scale was fascinating and unique. Her new stuff, dessert person, is nice, but it’s standard cooking show fare, not solving weird industrial hacks.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

I miss Zackrawr introspective posts in the treehouse.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Oh, what? I don’t remember that one. Is it this one? youtu.be/yjztvddhZmI

GrayBackgroundMusic,

I miss when Babish posted more. I like the newer chefs, too, and I love anime with Alvin, but I subbed for babish.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

I’ve no problem with the trans and lefty commentary, I find that stuff fascinating…

Who is miss is Oliver. Abigail is nice, but I identified with Oliver in a lot of ways. I can’t identify with Abigail. I wish they could have cloned/split into 2 people.

What is your unpopular flim opinion

I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds

GrayBackgroundMusic,

It’s pro war? To me it was the first depiction of the horrors of war. It made me think about my support for armed conflict and ultimately against it.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

To me, showing me something horrible is to be against it.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Ah, I see your point. I didn’t relish the horror. I didn’t even understand the horror. When I was growing up, I was taught in a way that minimized or disregarded suffering. SPR did not do that. It showcased it and in a horrendous way. While some may relish in that, I didn’t and it made me reconsider my childhood support of any armed conflict as justified. I didn’t understand the costs involved. While I’m sure the movie didn’t capture everything, what it showed was horrendous.

Idk about your point of justification. It’s been a while and I don’t remember that.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

No comment on the topic, just your name made me chuckle.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Not unilaterally. Linking to reddit is fine, but bots that just repost links are not. If you, a person, find something on reddit that’s worthwhile (a comic that’s only posted on reddit, or a thread detailing a tech solution, or something else) and link it, then that’s fine. You, a person, found value on another site and shared it. I don’t care what a bot thinks. I care what you, my fellow lemming, thinks.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Peace and quiet. Someone else to clean and remember things. I’m tired of being the most responsible person. I’m not even that responsible, imo, but everyone else is worse.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Is "Error rate limit" a Lemmy or a Connect or an instance thing?

I’m trying to make posts. I’ve got an image hosted on catbox, so I’m posting only text and links. Most days I can make about 4 before I get that error. (I save my posts for when I have time.) Today, I got it after the first one. Is this a Lemmy thing, or Connect, or my instance or the instance I’m posting on?...

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Anya Taylor-Joy… passes for a young Charlize Theron.

I disagree with this. I think Joy is a good actor but the difference between her and Theron is really jarring.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Weird. It works for me. Idk how to help you, sorry.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

I’m also on lemm.ee I use catbox.moe for image uploads.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

That explains it a little. I have NSFW turned off.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

The bill afterwards was not fun, so I recommend being in a non USA country.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Kinda related, I had surgery a few years back and it required a 3 day hospital stay. It was a glorious, relaxing vacation. No one asked me to do anything, people took care of me, fed me, etc. Recovery pain was worth it. I still remember it fondly.

Comparing it to my regular life is depressing, lol.

Teleport. Could make so much money. Could advance science, depending on range.
