Hello friends, ready to take the plunge in the fediverse, still learning my way around it but I'm excited at the potential.

@Roccosbasilisk Welcome!

e: BTW you created a post and it shows up under microblogging. it's just like twitter. if you want to create a Thread like the post on reddit you have to create a article. It's the little things :P

What do you think of Mastodon ?

Jcb2016,

@xc2215x Very twitter like. What makes it good is that its part of the . i can comment, reply like everyones post anywhere. I love it! and are more visual and have a lot of features but mastodon has its place and so do kbin and lemmy!

Is there a kbin Android app yet? I know the web app works, which is what I'm using now, but would really like a native app. I'm assuming these are being worked on and just need time to bake!

Jcb2016,

@s6original There are so many lemmy apps. Why not kbin. if i could program i would have been had an alpha kbin out already!

As a Kbin user, whenever I click on a lemmy link it takes me to their website which would then not allow me to post or subscribe to the magazine/community/whatever. Is there a way to click on other instances' links and STAY in kbin so that I can interact with them?

Why can't I add a title to this post?

Jcb2016,

@ramboteng Nope. thats the whole thing about the fediverse is to be able to communicate with anyone with whatever account. each instance has its own tools and homepage for that instance. if you go to another instance you will see there interface, you can comment, reply, create a post and that's about it. or you can just create an account on whatever instnace and have everything you want. I have one on lemmy and kbin but use kbin more because i like the interface more then lemmy!

What app do you use for /kbin browsing?

Currently using a webapp from the kbin.social website saved to my Home Screen on iOS. It works pretty great actually, but it’s got some quirks. Mainly, it’s not really tuned for the phone screen, not well enough at least. It also lacks niceties like easily previewing image and video posts, as well as saving them. Coming from Apollo, saving media to my phone in a specific folder is sorely missed.

Suggestions?

Jcb2016,

@astrsk Everyone using Kbin on there phone is using the website or Web app. It's got it's issues but it works.
