MonkCanatella,

the pci slot would be able to be used for external storage, like connecting to a nas or das. serve the home found you can add one of these though I don’t think they tested that it can hit the max theoretical throughput of 96gbps.

MonkCanatella,

Hmm that’s a good point. Though I think it shouldn’t be too bad unless under heavy load all the time. I think the CPU is made for laptops. That said it’d definitely have to be doing more than just working as an opnsense box

MonkCanatella,

Someone installed chimera os already! Should be in YouTube search results

I do think they’ll release an amd version

MonkCanatella,

I just tried it out and it’s purely cosmetic - basically just puts your bookmarks bar to the left hand side, but it’s not like rambox or opera or floorp. It just opens a new tab

MonkCanatella,

Kindles allow loading epubs nowadays btw. You can even add epubs from one of their websites. I like to sideload mine to get features that kindle epubs have that sideloaded ones don’t, like scrolling the text instead of having to flip pages

MonkCanatella,

Well a lot of what I like I can just download from qobuz or spotify. Lots of other stuff I can find on nicotine. What’s most difficult though, is obscure artists in the electronic, experimental and art music genres. For example one of my tests for how thorough a catalog is is by searching for classical composers Taneyev and Arensky, or the electronic artist Forss (who coincidentally founded soundcloud). I especially like to look for lossless audio like flac

MonkCanatella,

Ahh right on, I’ll take a look!

MonkCanatella,

No worries, I hadn’t seen the font resources from the mega thread so hopefully some folks get some use out of it. I’m just looking for a very specific font

MonkCanatella,

I rest my case

MonkCanatella,

In that case, wouldn’t it be possible to try this on any distro? Just make a new user per DE? Also, I think what they’re pointing out is that you can change DE and rollback to where you were before

MonkCanatella,

Oh awesome, yeah I was missing the user tag! Yeah all working now, thank you :)

MonkCanatella,

I love Fedora. I like it a lot more than Linux mint. More than either, I’ve really enjoyed PopOS. It went from a distro I wasn’t sure about to my favorite really quickly. Highly recommend it.

MonkCanatella,

I found the same torrents on vstorrents and several comments reporting viruses on the releases. Could be why they were taken down from audioz. I’ts sus cuz I see lots of people showing heuristics of viruses being caught by avs on audioz and being told it’s a false positive, so for them to remove something is pretty sus

Shkshkshk, to piracy

Is ProtonVPN worth it?

@piracy

Got reminded of this while reading about ProtonMail. The reason I haven't gotten into proper is that I don't have a VPN for torrenting, and the reason I don't have a VPN is that I don't . So it would be nice if I got a good VPN while myself.

Will ProtonVPN rat me out to Comcast? I know some VPNs don't hide what you're downloading from your ISP, for reasons I don't fully understand.

MonkCanatella,

You don’t need a vpn with these. Evidence gathered by wiretapping isn’t permissible in court. They need you to send them copyrighted material to sue. At least in the us

MonkCanatella,

ah ok

MonkCanatella,

Ah ok check with a lawyer then

MonkCanatella,

I’ve had a few of these. They can really get the heart racing but I was always too chicken shit to even do anything. Nothing ever came of it.

MonkCanatella,

yeah any wm or de has or should have that capability. Windows and mac allow that as well. I’m talking about specifically which apps are pinned to your taskbar. which sway and most wms that I’m aware of don’t have

MonkCanatella,

this the only thing keeping me from moving from windows

MonkCanatella,

Ability to pin applications to the taskbar depending on which virtual desktop/workspace you are in. For example, I’d like a coding desktop that just has an ide, browser, and terminal.
