Pika,

It’s actually quite worrisome, many projects exclusively have their troubleshooting or support on Discord now what’s going to happen years down the road when all those Discord servers have closed or no longer active and the invite links expire this is going to be a vast knowledge base that’s just lost to the world

Pika,

Unfortunately I heard they forked it to the AI/ automation branch so I don’t think that the original maintainers coming back. They’re calling it the new best thing

Pika,

I was about to chime in and say yes that’s just life but then I saw the title lmao

I think this vastly depends on if there’s malicious intent involved with it, and I mean this on both sides. in the case of what was posted they manipulated the program outside of its normal operating parameters to list a quote for the vehicle. Even if they had stated this AI platform was able to do quotes which for my understanding the explicitly stated it’s not allowed to do, the seller could argue that there is a unilateral mistake involved that the other side of the party knew about and which was not given to the seller or there is very clear fraudulent activity on the buyers side both of which would give the seller the ability to void the contract.

In the case of no buy side manipulation it gets more difficult, but it could be argued that if the price was clearly wrong, the buyer should have known that fact and was being malicious in intent so the seller can withdraw

Of course this is all with the understanding that the program somehow meets the capacity to enter a legally binding agreement of course

also fun fact, Walmart had this happen with their analytical program five or so years ago, and they listed the Roku streaming stick for ~50 less so instead of it being $60 it was listed as 12, all the stores got flooded with online orders for Roku devices because that’s a damn good deal however they got a disclaimer not soon after that any that came in at that price point were to be Auto canceled, which is allowed by the sites TOS

What’s more insane is that some of those passwords in the lists are I still live intrusions that companies haven’t acted on, like for example my Dropbox password is there and that’s a new password that I just gave them a few months ago before I deleted my account

Pika, (edited )

I Just disable cookies by default or have it session only cookies. Back before Firefox supported Auto rejecting or accepting prompts natively I used to use one of those. It would accept the cookies however since it only allowed session based cookies when I closed my browser It would delete them all.

Pika,

I know a lot of people who are sailing the Seas until the streaming Market crashes. There’s way too many businesses trying to do the same exact thing which has limited the media selection available without paying multiple $12 a month subscriptions. Eventually they will either fold or merge together again

Pika,

They are going about it the wrong way with reddit. All they gotta do is show the $$$$ and spez will bend right over with that information. After all that’s all he seems to see.

Pika,

just spent a few mins reading it, definitly agree with you, required for any issue reporter

Pika,

wait what android version, my android 13 doesn’t do that

Pika,

blue pill, my existing knowledge won’t help me cause I’m not in a position to actually change things. 10 million dollars though… I could invest that and call it a day

Pika,

It doesn’t say you go back I time, just become younger, but if that’s how it works I could do that route, and have an early start on everything.

Pika,

this post hurt me inside. Good Job.

Pika,

I get the point of the meme, but can I just say I hate routers that give you a default password other than admin or password. Like I get the point of it is to prevent the device from being insecure when the user doesn’t put a password on it. However after a while the back of the router becomes basically unreadable and when you go online and search default admin password for x and their support page says that the password is different per router it’s a little ridiculous. It is a much better approach to just force the password to be changed when you do the initial setup that way you can forget the admin password and factory reset it and still be able to access it where with current day routers if you reset it and you don’t have that little piece of plastic on the back that says the admin password you’re more or less SOL

Pika,

Mines behind our printer, it gets covered in dust and the adhesive on the sticker is starting to fail lol, thankfully it’s not one that does that though so I’m not too worried.

Pika,

she never appeared at my local Walmart this year thankfully

Pika,

Most features that smart phones had. Most prodomimantly the micro SD card slot, headphone jack and IR blaster.

Pika,

Yeah but they’re all the lower end phones, all the major flagships removed the features three or four versions ago, I don’t want to have to sacrifice camera or screen quality in order to have features that should be built into phones by default

Pika, (edited )

I’ve looked into those phones, the specs look nice but they don’t work in my region, unfortunately rural areas of the US don’t have Tower support for those style models(yay refusal to upgrade any sort of infrastructure). many of my friends that are overseas have stated that they love the phones though.

Pika,

That’s really that is why I went with the phone I have, out of the phones that I looked at all of them were a downgrade for the screen, and generally camera. Or lacked the tower support in my area since we barely have LTE

Pika,

also try changing your alarm tone or turning off snooze. A lot of device allow that. I change my alarm sound when I noticed that happening

Pika,

most devices have the turn off right next to snooze anyway, but yea I can see where that might be counterproductive if they are sleeping through it. They do make puzzle alarms as well for that that require you to do something in order to turn it off, that might be a better solution

Pika,

I allow notifications on everything but games unless they have ruined it for themselves otherwise or have a valid reason to exist such as a war game that is alerting you you are being attacked.
