RememberTheApollo,

I think the lines are blurred, sure. However there are plenty of politicians that really just kind of do their job and stay out of the limelight, whereas celebrities are by default in the public eye. Also, the biggest difference is the part where you vote for a politician and they set policy. I don’t vote for celebs, and I don’t call them telling me what to wear or watch “policy”. We’ve had 2 legit celebrity presidents and they’ve both been disastrous.

RememberTheApollo,

Didn’t know that, thanks. Figured the retail shops went up so quality was on the way down.

RememberTheApollo,

Good to hear the real stuff is still available and affordable. Thanks.

RememberTheApollo,

Your logic is not correct. Powder and people are not the same. Volume is volume, and particles of fire retardant are not changing size or quantity. If pressure drops substantially in an extinguisher, it’s leaking.

A can of fresh spray paint works because the seals are all still good and the nozzle isn’t clogged, and cans of used spray paint can leak out pressure or have the nozzle or other plumbing jammed up with dried spray paint.

RememberTheApollo,

It will not be defeated. It will simply reinvent itself. Forms of capitalism seem to be human nature.

RememberTheApollo,

Depends on the apocalypse. If it’s sufficient to wipe out global trade and logistics chances are they’ll be rebuilding in the Stone Age, especially if there are no skilled craftsmen like smiths to keep even the most basic tooling working. Modern civilization has huge requirements for a stable supply of power and highly specialized professionals to keep it running. Get a Big apocalypse and you’ll lose enough of those people to make it impossible to re-start civilization.

But you gotta pay the membership fee. Only worth it if you spend enough to cover that fee in rebates and savings; and then shopping at Costco isn’t what I would call “poor”, but maybe it works out?

There are other grocery stores that have hot food bars and sell the rotisserie chicken, too.

RememberTheApollo,

MXMS with surprisingly only a few hundred minutes. In the top 0.5%.

RememberTheApollo,

That’s an interesting take. Conservatives tend to have an image of hypocrisy - ie, maybe treat a woman well, yet seek to restrict her legal rights or prevent women from protections, and they seem to think that this hypocrisy cannot be questioned. They never like being called out or questioned on it.

RememberTheApollo,

…and we read all the news but don’t finish the articles.

Fellow Extreme Weather Lemmings, what are your Buy it for Life winter boot suggestions?

We got my husband some Helly Hansen boots the year before last and we noticed a hole in them last year. I am right pissed. If I’m dropping hundreds of dollars on boots, I expect to get my money’s worth. What are your awesome boot suggestions to help me do just that?

RememberTheApollo,

I would have said a good set of Marmot boots. But I haven’t bought a set since I got mine years ago, so I don’t know what today’s quality is.
