One of my personal favorites that doesn’t seem to get a lot of love yet is !bloomcounty It posts the comic in order as they came out in the 1980’s.

Bloom County is an American comic strip by Berkeley Breathed which originally ran from December 8, 1980, until August 6, 1989. It examined events in politics and culture through the viewpoint of a fanciful small town in Middle America, where children often have adult personalities and vocabularies and where animals can talk. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloom_County

It may not be everyones cup of tea, but I thought it was hilarious growing up, and still do.

I accidentally added blue fluid to pink fluid when I refilled my car, now every time I change lanes my car goes into a gender reveal party mode.

Scam Numbers - Reddit's (and possibly the internet's) largest scam number depository, now on Lemmy! (lemmy.zip)

With almost 40k subscribers on Reddit, r/ScamNumbers is one of the most useful online databases for tracking down scam phone numbers. Some use the information for awareness, while others take advantage by prank calling scammers to waste their time....

Don’t a lot of scammers spoof their numbers?

My ex sent me a text asking a question, I didn’t respond when I noticed it because she would have been asleep and promptly forgot about it. In three weeks it’ll be two years.

I should wait until then and reply with a simple “Nope”.

Stamets, what the hell? Are you trying to break my upvote finger or something? It’s starting to get sore…

Am I the only one that enjoyed night shifts? Less traffic, no big bosses around to mess things up or get in the way, no scheduled meetings or other distractions… just do your job and go home. And you can still run around to appointments etc and get stuff done during the day when everything is open without taking time off work.

Mind you, I’ve always been a night owl so that probably helps my perspective…

Well I am a bit thin, but everyone tells me I look younger than I am so I guess the flesh on me is still fairly juicy at least.

In a warm climate I’d imagine the breeze is nice. Up here in Canada though you need a pair of egg warmers.

I’m on my second play through and using her as my main character. I like that “Kill 'em all and let the gods sort it out” attitude.

All 5 of my cats were strays/born from strays. Plus there’s another 10 strays outside near my place that I’ve been taking care of, and sheltering from the cold.

And I’m not even a cat person. I’ve been pussy whipped by their cuteness.

Hollywood to UK Govt: Investigating Pirates "Increasingly Difficult" * TorrentFreak (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

Summary: A recent UK government inquiry into the challenges faced by the film and high-end television industry has recently received submissions from major Hollywood studios advocating for KYC (know your customer) rules for hosting providers, similar to banking regulations to identify money laundering. If adopted, this would...

They like to whine and cry that piracy makes them lose money, but the opposite is true (at least in my case.) I wouldn’t have bought half the games I did if I hadn’t first pirated them to try them out. I’m certainly not tossing $60+ dollars on something I “might” like otherwise.

That kind of explains why I can’t keep plants alive… I’m traumatizing them so bad they want death.

1337x.to not xx.to

I have no idea who xx.to is… it’s not on the list of alternate domains so I’m a bit leery of that one.

Although I’m not finding dutch there, bt4gprx.com has it but I’d be cautious with some of those.

I had/have 5 cats. (All formerly strays.) This summer, 2 local strays gave birth near my house. I spent the summer trying to make friends with them and mostly succeeded with the exception of the one stray momma who will come up to the house for treats and food, but still doesn’t like me touching her. So now I guess I have 14 cats unofficially, and the resistant momma will make 15 if I emerge victorious. (Obviously I can’t take them all in to the house but I have a shed I can keep warm for them in the winter to make their lives a little easier.)

Now I’m saving extra money and me and my neighbor are chipping in together to get them all fixed. We’re probably going to have to trap “Smokey” (The one momma who still doesn’t quite trust me yet) to get her done while we try and find homes for all these adorable rodents. Not something I can really afford at the moment, but I’m still going to do as much as I can for them.

It sounds like we may have found a home or two for at least a few of them, so that’s a bonus at least.

One of the giants was 7’9” tall (2.36 m) while the “shorter” one was a mere 7’4” tall (2.23 m) and according to various sources they were indeed twin brothers. They created quite an impression at the Durbar as they literally stood heads and shoulders above the rest. The brothers were known as the Two Kashmir Giants and were elite riflemen in the service of the Maharaja. rarehistoricalphotos.com/kashmir-giants/

So ya they were pretty big.

I guess they have their use, but I dislike green extension cords. my daughter has a few of them, and she tends to leave them laying in the grass when I go over to mow her yard.

She now has a few shorter ones.

I saw the String cheese post so I thought I’d share my own “slightly beyond best before date” consumable. I used to have two of them that I had found in my attic under some insulation, but the other one froze in my garage and broke open. (No, it did NOT smell pleasant. At least I won’t have to move. (I’m in Canada.)

Small issue with the map though… a lot of northern Canada is muskeg (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muskeg) and rock (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Shield) so it’s not nearly as green and fertile as the map makes it out to be.
