I’m sure you had more tact than that lol, but I can see some reasons around that choice being touchy subjects.

This is what happens when people have a basic knowledge of history and basic background knowledge of their field of expertise.

That’s not to minimize their intelligence and competence; that’s to say that it is expected that astronomers would know the names and histories of major nearby celestial bodies.
