I had a 1650 until recently. I thought Wayland was just buggy as hell but as soon as I put in an AMD card it was smooth as butter. I know it’s not always an option but in my area cards sell locally for $80 specifically the Rx 5500 and RX 580

I found an Rx 5500 for $75 at a pawn shop and so far it’s performing the same but my CPU is a huge bottleneck so not sure yet til I upgrade

I definitely do feel i3 is the easiest to understand and get into. I remember when I first started using Linux I tried awesomewm and icewm but was so confused. i3 made sense tho

Haha that’s my thoughts exactly. Anyone that complains should go try to maintain x11 so they can understand way development is moving to Wayland. I’m not a dev at all and I don’t understand but I love reading the blog post from devs

Just pick one and roll with it. Eventually as you use it you might want to switch so do that if you wanna. Distro just comes down to preference so find one you like. At the end of the day they’re all Linux

I don’t have one but my cousin has one and I tried to use it back in fedora 35-36 I think. Not a good experience. Maybe it’s better now

I love arch but I actually haven’t used it since before they added the arch install. I can’t imagine how much easier it is cause it’s still the terminal. The “manual” install was easy as hell
